VMWare disaster recovery?
I found this in the large and growing list of downloadable vmware
appliances: http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/316.
I haven't run it yet, but it claims to provide a way to mirror
running windows boxes over iscsi to vmware disk images, then allows
you to boot that image under vmware as a replacement for the server
with little downtime.
Has anyone attempted something like this with C...

A Performance Comparison of Hypervisors
Obviously not a very fair comparison [1]. I can''t see how this was done well
at all.
VMWare are a bit silly to release stuff like this, just lowers the whole
game.

ESX VM from scratch
I want to create a virtual machine from scratch in ESX but I can't figure
out how to create the disks - the vmdk files. Any hints on how that can be
done or even if it's possible at all ?
Thanks

Sorry about that folks. Starting a new thread.
May want to check out the VMware CentOS appliances as examples:

The appliance itself will host multiple Virtual Machines. Looks like we
are leaning towards VMWare for the virtual machines. What we are
thinking about it what to used as the guest OS and how do we develop and
manage the guest...

Distroy to experiment with Xen?
Hello,
I would like to experiment with Xen some to see how I could integrate
it in my various web application environments and hopefully make my
life easier. I am currently using FreeBSD 6 but it seems that it
doesn''t fully support Xen. I did some searching around and also notice
some posts on mailing lists mentioning some trouble with the CentOS 4
distribution (something about the

Rubuntu Live CD for Rails
Friends-
I am almost finished with a custom live cd called Rubuntu ;-) This

developers in mind. I already have it working with all the basics but
I was wondering what extras people would like to see on this distro.
What editors with what configurations?
What other tools do people really like for rails development on a
