hello now that dovecot supports authentication with checkpassword-compatible modules, I tried to get it working for IMAP on a qmail + vmailmgr server. For a subtle detail, while claiming to be "a drop-in replacement for the standard checkpassword", checkvpw (auth module for vmailmgr) is not "drop in". dovecot seems to have an issue with :'s in pathnames: imap(test.user): Fatal: Failed to create storage with data: /home/ hosted/example.com/users/test:user This causes a bit of a problem with vmailmgr since it, by default, replaces .'s in maildir path with :'s. ...rd I am testing (including the correct one, of course) This is in src/auth/userdb-vpopmail.c line 35 : vpw = vauth_getpw(vpop_user, vpop_domain); According to the makefile, the binary was built with -L/home/vpopmail/lib and -I/home/vpopmail/include options ("standard" qmail/vmailmgr/vpopmail installation) so it should be ok ? I checked the permissions by setting a shell for vpopmail user, then 'su vpopmail' and read/write the password.cdb file. What could be wrong ?
