Dovecot and MySQL aborted connections.
We also spotted these sql connections getting aborted, upon upgrading
MySQL from 5.6 to 5.7. (Going back to 5.6 we don't see them!)
Turning on mysql general query logging we can see it is Dovecot's mysql
connections that inquire about or update quota usage in particular:

dsync not copying all mail
...mpts to "clean" the
hybrid maildir-dbox situation I used imapsync to copy all mails from the
old account to a new account. I would assume in this case I get a clean
dbox-mailmap. I tried to run dsync on this new map but noticed a lot of
mails are not syncing:
[vmail at mail ~]$ find /vmail2/new/bunbun.be/nick | wc -l
5329
[vmail at mail ~]$ find /vmail2/old/bunbun.be/nick | wc -l
6134
Any ideas?

Dovecot and MySQL aborted connections.
...re closed way earlier.
dovecot and postfix use the same database and mysql user, so I created a new user for dovecot.
syslog shows a few communication packet errors but these are all from postfix, none from dovecot so far.
It seems connections are closed after 60s of inactivity (vmail is postfix, vmail2 is dovecot):

doveadm: Error: open(/proc/self/io) failed
Hi,
I am running dovecot-2.2.36-3.el7.x86_64 on a Centos 7 machine. I keep seeing
the following errors in the dovecot.log:
Jul 22 12:52:04 vmail2 dovecot: doveadm: Error: open(/proc/self/io) failed: Permission denied
Dovecot -n is listed below:

Softlinks
All,
I'm using Maildir. Is it possible to move all (or only some) maildirs with
softlinks to another partition?

Actually the above works OK but you gave me the clue I needed to
find the actual problem. I looked at the log message again and
realized that it says doveadm is having problems.
Something like this:
Jul 22 12:52:04 vmail2 dovecot: doveadm: Error: open(/proc/self/io) failed: Permission denied
So I took your advice and found that I had the following in my dsync
config:
service doveadm {
inet_listener {
port = 2525
}
user = vmail
}
Removing the user = vmail above fixed the problem.
Thanks again.

Migrate dbox 1.2 virtual mail to 2.0
...d in Maildir format but I changed them to dbox using "fast
Maildir migration" and some mails are still in the old maildir format.
I'm trying to migrate these mails using dsync but dsync panics:
% dsync -D -o mail_location=dbox:/var/spool/vmail/bunbun.be/nick mirror
dbox:/var/spool/vmail2/bunbun.be/nick
......
dsync(vmail): Panic: file mail-storage.c: line 1351
(mailbox_save_set_guid): assertion failed: (guid == NULL || *guid != '\0')
zsh: abort (core dumped) dsync -D -o
mail_location=dbox:/var/spool/vmail/bunbun.be/nick mirror
Any ideas?

Panic: file sieve-cmu.c: line 262 (part_save): assertion failed: (buf->used - 1 == part->body_size.physical_size)
Hi everybody
We are running in the same issue as Maciej Polewczynski does in
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2008-September/033645.html
Is there already a solution? I dont think so? In the TODO-File for 1.2.2
this issue is still reported:
####
[...]
- sieve-cmu.c crash: i_assert(buf->used - 1 ==
part->body_size.physical_size);
[...]

I am not able to reproduce the problem but I
