[Bridge] bridge changes id on addif - is that normal?
hi
i've setup the following on debian etch with bridge-utils 1.4
(backported) and kernel 2.6.26 from backports.org:
vlan10 with raw device eth0
vlan20 with raw device eth0
br10 with initial port vlan10
br20 with initial port vlan20
i've set hw addr to DE:AD:BE:EF:34:10 for br10 and DE:AD:BE:EF:34:20 for
br20
the bridges are used to connect virtual machine nic's.
"brctl show" before any other port is attached:
bridge name...

I''m trying to setup an 8 port wan configuration (pptp+pppoe) with one vlan trunk.
My internal networks are :
LAN(eth9): 10.0.0.0/16
VLAN10(eth9) 10.10.0.0/24
VLAN20(eth9) 10.20.0.0/24
VLAN30(eth9) 10.30.0.0/24
VLAN100(eth9) 10.100.0.0/24

Question about limited primary addresses
I just realized that I hadn''t actually asked a question when I posted
this before. Let me try again...
I am trying to configure a Linux box with all possible VLANs (4094 of
them), and a subnet on each VLAN. Creating the VLANs isn''t a problem.
But, when I try to use "ip addr add ..." commands to assign an IP

Can I use shorewell stuff for my problem
Hi all, Im new to shorewell, can anyone guide me whether I can use
shorewell for my work.
I have a requirement in our work:
Each system shall have two Ethernet card interfaces(system means hardware
devices, servers, clients in other words any device or host used in the
project). The IP address of each interface will be of different networks,
subnets and gateways completely. Bcoz if one of
