probably something trivial, just cannot get my way around

Known problem?
Virually all windows programs that use just a little beyond basic
functionality that I try running under wine produce exceptions, and on
top of that, wine seems to crash every time it tries to start the
debugger, such as:
wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
But nothing ever happens, no matter...

libvirt with VirtualBox - possible to specify path to snapshot folder in domain.xml?
Hi!
I'm using libvirt withVirtual Box. I have installed libvirt 0.10.2 and Virtual Box 4.1.Is possible to spesify the pat to the folder I want my differencing image created in in my domain.xml file? When I define my vm (virsh domain.xml) with my domain.xml and use the readonly tag, Virual Box creates a differencing image (default in users Vitual Box VMs folder). I want to specify in my domain.xml file what folder this differencing image should be created in (not the default folder). Is this possible?

virtual bios question
...and qemu-dm, but I think it
should be only one of virtual bios
will be used to initialize the virutal device in qemu-dm.I find at the end
of hvmloader it will jmp to 0xffff0, that is the bios entry,so I think the
virtual bios in hvmloader will function. But how qemu-dm ingore the
execution of its virual bios inside?
Any one help me? Thanks.

Help Samba Virtual Servers (Host aliases) configuration problem
...no
writable = yes
valid users = @filesharing
write list = @filesharing
and so on for ALIAS3.
It doesn't work properly because it seems that the variable %L will not
"set" as it would by the client connect request.
Each client inside my workgroup see effectively three different hosts
(virual hosts) ALIAS1, ALIAS2 and ALIAS3 plus the real fileserver FILESERVER
but if I'll try to connect with ALIAS1 I'll see only the /home/share of
SHARE and not this one plus/and ALIAS1 /home/share_alias1 of ALIAS1!
The same if I'll trying to connect to ALIAS2 or ALIAS3...
It seems that inclu...

FW: R Process Killed out of logical swap space: Case id #259-4945 (PR#7732)
Dear Professor Ripley,
I am attempting a large scale mixed-model analysis of longitudinal gene
array data using R. I use a 64-bit SGI with 7GB available RAM and 40G
logical swap space together with unlimited virual swap space. The OS is IRIX
6.5.24. I use R version 1.9.0 since I have had problems upgrading to R 2.0.1
at 64-bit using native SGI compiler build.
I write a serial for (i in 1:length(y)) { }
containing the call to lme as follows

Server Compatibility Advice Request
Hello Community,
I''m very new to Xen Virtualization and hope one of you can advice and guide
me.
We are planning to virtualize existing 4 old server that we used in a
project. The server is 4 years old but I do believe very good HW that we
can reuse and take advantage of virtualization. In a nutshell the hardware
spec looks like this;

Which cache are you referring to, specifically? The page cache? The
inode cache? The dentry cache?
What problem are you trying to solve, at a high level?

OpenVPN ifconfig
...#39;m new to openvpn and maybe I should be asking on
openvpn''s list...
But I read the tutorial:
http://www.shorewall.net/OPENVPN.html#id2452626
and saw the following:
" On System A:
ifconfig 192.168.99.1 192.168.99.2 "
I don''t understand the reason for using these "virual"
IPs.
For instance, I configured openvpn on my peers so that
the IPs on the "LAN cards" are the ones appearing on
the "ifconfig" line. i.e.:
System A
LAN 192.168.1.0/24
Linux OpenVPN with eth0 = WAN IP and eth1 =
192.168.1.1
System B
LAN 192.168.2.0/24
Linux OpenVPN with...

[PATCH v5 33/75] x86/head/64: Switch to initial stack earlier
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de>
Make sure there is a stack once the kernel runs from virual addresses.
At this stage any secondary CPU which boots will have lost its stack
because the kernel switched to a new page-table which does not map the
real-mode stack anymore.
This is needed for handling early #VC exceptions caused by instructions
like CPUID.
