CentOS Within VirtualPC 2007
Trying to get CentOS 5 running under VirtualPC 2007. The installation seems to go OK until X server runs. After this the screen display goes horribly wrong. Does anyone know if this is an issue with v5 or something else. Also has anyone managed to get CentOS running properly (from the install) under VirtualPC 2007? Regards, Rab. ============...

Lifeform installed, only partial functionality
Lifeform is a 16-bit Windows based Health Management piece of software that I have used for years. It will not install under Vista without doing something insane like installing virtualpc and a full blown XP install. I did get it to install under Wine, kinda. The creation of a program group and icons failed but I was able to do that part manually. Part of the application allows you to select a food item then an amount. The drop down list full of food items appears, but the selectio...

Apps that officially support Wine?
http://www.cockos.com/reaper/ is the home page for an app that officially supports Wine; it says "Requires Windows 98/ME/NT/2k/XP/Vista/WINE" Anyone know of other such apps? Do we already have a list of them somewhere? If we don't, maybe we should start one on the wiki page. It would be kind of neat to watch that list grow. - Dan

Chainboot to XP Embedded
...tem like this: [BOOT: (FAT16 w/ SYSLINUX)] [OS1] My SYSLINUX.CFG looks like this: LABEL xp2 KERNEL chain.c32 APPEND hd0 2 If I select xp2, when I boot all I get is a "Booting..." message. It never gets further than this. Any ideas? Think it's possible? I'm doing this under VirtualPC 2004... Thanks in advance! - Josh

[helpdesk@wolflair.com: Re: Army Builder 3 and linux]
...It was our intent to develop AB3 using only standard mechanisms that the various emulators would support. Since we don't use Linux in-house for anything, and since Wine can be a major pain to setup appropriately, we don't actively test against Wine. Instead, we do some quick tests using VirtualPC on the Mac as our sanity check. Since AB3 does work under VirtualPC, I'm guessing that the problem is due to something wrong within the way Wine handles a particular Windows GDI function or two. I don't know what it would be, but we're a tiny company so we don't have the bandwid...

Can VMWare modules run alongside in XEN kernel?
I would like to have VMware modules running in the XEN kernel, NOT in DOM0 kernel but outside at the hypervisor level, is that possible? Architecturally, I noticed that xen subbranch does not implement any modules loading. If I were to load the VMware modules directly as an ELF image, will it break any existing architectural feature in XEN? Thanks :-).

Wine for Windows Vista?
Hi, I am looking for IE6 to run on Vista - In the URL below, it states that there is a Wine for Windows now - and IE 6 can be installed once you have Wine for Windows. Is this correct info? http://tredosoft.com/IE6_For_Vista_Part_1 I have recently installed Debian on a old Pentium 3 machine, so I may check out Wine on that platform as well. If the hardware can take it. I have I believe 384MB

Running win or Linux apps on a Power PC Mac
Hi, I am desperately trying to make a little application work that is only available for Win or Linux machines. My computer is a G4 Power PC Mac running Tiger. Darwine is not compatible PPC. There was an old version, but in the readme file it said that I would not be able to run .exe files on a PPC, so I don't understand the point of the application... Qemu doesn't work. OpenLina is
