Interesting catalog: Viking Electronics
This is not specifically Asterisk-related, but I think that sometimes
a "pre-emptive" clue is a good thing.
Viking Electronics (http://www.vikingelectronics.com/) has some neat
widgets that attach to phone lines, which I'm sure many of the people
on this list would find at least somewhat useful in conjunction with
their Asterisk systems. Many of the widgets can be replaced with
Asterisk as far as the &...

Viking CPC-Disconnect
Someone on the list a while back suggested that if you were having
problems with call disconnects, to look into a product from Viking
TellecomSolutions called cpc-disconnect:

I received my unit on Friday and put it into place Saturday afternoon
(SBC in this area doesn't supply call disconnect supervision). The unit

Overhead Paging Systems...
Hey all,
I know you all saw the topic and let out a groan. However, I understand
how to get an overhead paging system to work with respect *, however I am
now looking for a small(?) paging amp, that I could hook 3 or 4 horns to.
I would like to just have the * extention be routed to a soundcard and out
an output, so I would like an amp that is voice signal activated.
Has anyone found anything

Strange performance issue
...d 15 seconds to load. Are there any tools I can use to
determine was part of my layout is taking a while to load? Because the
browser seems to work VERY hard to display that page. Why is the browser
working so hard? Our competitors sites (ex:
http://www.stubhub.com/dallas-cowboys-tickets/cowboys-vs-vikings-8-28-2008-615078/)
have pages with more tickets that load faster and their pages are
actually bigger in size. I''m just really frustrated and confused.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I road travel quite a bit, and have a Garmin Dezl 760D with my own
profiles on there. In both of my trucks, I've got gps recievers running
off raspberry pi3's, running CentOS7/armv7 images. I bring all this
together on my laptop, running viking and gpsbabel under the hood.
This allows me to do all my route planning on either google-maps,
google-earth, or viking and all the tracks from the different devices
come together as layers. The POI tracking and specially the topo
tracking on viking is pretty good. There is no viable road-route pla...

Conflict with openwatcom (wrc)
...ut that. I wasn't supposed to actually have that as a
reply, it was meant to be another top-level post. To summarise, wrc in the
Mandriva wine-1.1.0 RPM available from Sourceforge conflicts with the name
of "wrc" in openwatcom, which is also a Win32 resource compiler.
Cheers, The Viking, Flying Brick Systems.

Connecting home intercom to Asterisk?
Hello
I assume I'm not the first one to think about this: Is it possible to
connect an intercom and/or door bell to Asterisk, so that I can get an
e-mail that someone rang my place while I was out?
Even better: If used for a doctor's office, it'd be cool if patients
could type their Social Security Number on a keypad, which would open
the door and notify Asterisk which would then

I have a Garmin 78s marine GPS receiver and it stores tracks in GPX
format. This is an XML encoded set of points giving longitude,
latitude, time and sea depth. Garmin support viewing this via their
Garmin Express product, but there only seem to be Windows and Mac
versions. I've emailed them and await a reply. In the mean time, does
anyone know of any Linux products that will emable me to

Overhead paging over IP...
I have a customer that has two buildings that are connected with a
fiber link. We have a single Asterisk server to cover both buildings.
Now the customer went and bought an overhead paging system for the
remote building and they want to integrate it with Asterisk. Is there a
device that can connect over IP or an ATA that has an audio output port?
The buildings are about 500 meters apart so we

Very friggen cool, that you very much for the information it looks like
it will do the job nicely.
What did you use in your extensions list to activate the relay?

SIP ATA's as "house" phones
...an Inter-Tel Access which we simply created a
"house" phone setup on that analog card extension which rang to an ACD
group that hunted various people who were logged in.
Is there an equivilent way to do this with Asterisk and a SIP ATA? We're
trying to use a Sipura 1001 ATA with our Viking door phone (model info
here:
http://www.vikingelectronics.com/products/view_product.php?pid=104).
Any suggestions?

Dialplan - intercoms
I've been scratching my head for a while and I expect it is my mediocre knowledge of Asterisk which is holding me back. If anyone can assist me with some pointers I'd be grateful.
Basically, I've hooked up a Viking intercom at the front door. It hooks into an fxs as a "phone". Up till now I've just played back a "go away" message if any internal phones are not answered. That was simple enough.
What I would like to do is answer the intercom, play a simple message to the visitor (i....

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Problem Making a SIP call over a long latencynetwork- Call rejected: 407 Proxy
I got the same trouble on some Zyxel ATA box ( NAT and non-NAT)
since I upgrade from 1.0.0 to 1.0.7.
It was working well with 1.0.0 but not with 1.0.7.
I am around 600 ms away from the * server.
Any Clue ?
but it has nothing to do with port blocking , Stateful , and so on .....
the access I use , work with version 1.0.0 but not with version 1.0.7
