Permissions question
My www directory is owned by "apache" and the group is "todd" and the permissions are 775. My Windows computers use Samba and they log into Linux with "todd". Under the www directory there are various directories which may have a group belonging to a user e.g. "viewpoint". Using this example, there is a directory under www (acutally called httpd),

persp3d and rgl.viewpoint for rotating 3D plots
Dear R-users, within the rgl-package, I would have a question about the usage of persp3d in combination of rgl.viewpoint. I am not able to figure out how to let a 3D plot rotating around likewise the example in ?rgl.viewpoint. It seems that when I use persp3d(...) I see something on my screen, which is different from what I get when it's rotating. Is there any different behavior between

rgl: coordinating and saving viewpoints, zoom, scale for multiple images
Context: I have two or more rgl-based views of a given data set, perhaps fitting different models, or showing different things across views. I want to be able to hand-rotate, zoom, scale one view to something I like, and then show the other views with matching viewpoints and scaling. so that one could flip back/forth among graphs and see only the relevant differences. In 2D, all this usually requires is setting the same xlim, ylim and other constant aspects across multiple graphs. In 3D with rgl, I can do one graph, rotate, zoom, etc. by hand and capture the v...

rgl rotations
Is there a way to change the viewpoint using view3d (or rgl.viewpoint) with respect to the image that currently appears rather than the perspective that rgl thinks is the default? For example, if I create an image and then perform what should be a no-op: rgl.viewpoint(userMatrix=rotationMatrix(0,1,0,0)) the image is rotated. Then I can perform rotations on the result without surprises. But I

movie3d function in the rgl package
Dear list, I'm using the function "movie3d" in the package "rgl" to create a .gif animation of a 3d graphic. The program "ImageMagik" is working properly, R packages are working, basic examples available in the manual also working fine. Problem Solved: when I tried to create more complex movies, i.e. combining different views and zooming, the R-console crashed

Current viewpoints on the Sayson/Aastra 480i
I have read the user reports on the Aastra 480i SIP phones, but the last report is from October, and the advice was to stay away from these units. I was looking at the cisco 79XX series or the SPA-941's, but they don't have backlit displays. I also like POE support so I don't have to run multiple wires to the phones and makes for a neater look. I dislike the looks of the SNOM

Re: Banned for different viewpoint
This is generally more of a Wine support forum, I guess... Plus you can usually resolve these kind of things with a moderator/admin rather than the whole slew of forum/mailing list users. Note that I know nothing more about this topic than the single post that's shown above...

rgl movimiento

wireframe
I've been using lattice/wireframe succesfully to visualize some data. I have one question. I want to be able to change the viewpoint ( i.e. rotate the plotted figure a bit left or right or up and down ) Is there a way to do that? Or is there some other package around that could help? Thanks.

Re: Vote For CentOS :) -- standing on the shoulders of each other
...r various reasons. And there are those others of us who are upset with Red Hat, and believe CentOS should not have to exist, that Red Hat should be providing it. And I'm sure there are others who wonder why people don't just run Fedora Core, or another distro for that matter. And yet other viewpoints different from those. It's all GPL, so lets just appreciate each other. This is what I meant by people focusing more on ripping companies that produce GPL incompatible software, like IBM, Sun (sans OpenOffice.org), etc... <Flammatory=on> Red Hat v. rgl: axis/viewport/box problems in persp3d()
Dear expeRts, I am a new user of rgl, below is my first trial to plot a simple function in 3d. I managed to put the axes in the right locations, but: (1) The xlab, ylab, and zlab arguments are ignored; how can I put in axes labels? (2) Since I removed the axes in persp3d() the viewport is too small; is it possible to keep the size of the viewport? (3) The box is not correctly drawn, there

Axes in 3D plots
I am wondering if anyone knows how to change or rotate the default axes on a 3D scatterplot. I would like to change which sides of the cube the 3 axes are displayed on. Many thanks, Leah Gerber [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Multi Head Cube rotation
Hi, I pulled compiz from GIT yesterday to see if I could get proper multi-head support. I think the current status is great, but I have one little suggestion to make. The current behavior is that we have two viewpoints of the "cube" (it's more like a body with eight side planes now). If it's rotated one step we skip one of the planes. Rotating four times is enough to go round exactly once. Is it possible to decrease this stepsize, so we can rotate the body in eight steps? I.E. When having two mo...

Ooo. :) Having just had a look at auth_curl.c in kh, that would probably do what we want even better. Is it possible (or would it *be* possible) to make <mount> sections take wildcards for

rgl and lighting
Dear R community (and Duncan more specifically), I can't work out how to make additional light sources work in rgl. Here is the example. First I create a cube and visualize it: > cubo <- cube3d(col="black") > shade3d(cubo) Next I position the viewpoint at theta=0 and phi=30: > view3d(theta=0,phi=30) Next, I want to create a 2nd light source which diffuses red light

[LLVMdev] Getting rid of phi instructions?
On 30.8.2011, at 19.19, Eli Friedman wrote: > reg2mem won't do quite this transformation... not sure exactly what you need. I need to get rid of phis. This code is compiled from C++ and for some functions there are no phis, but multiple call instructions. I am targeting hardware in the end, and the next tool reading the IR does not like phis when it's generating VHDL. My questions may

May IR types be merged by llvm-link?
...solution made by llvm-link is a correct operation, which in turn depends on what source language objects are represented in IR. Variables and function must exist in IR because these are entities directly represented in object files, but types do not have similar requirement. There are at least two viewpoints on which entities of source language should be represented in IR. Case 1 LLVM IR is a functional equivalent of the compiled program. It tries to preserve information about externally visible objects (variables, functions) that may be used in operation on IR modules. In particular, as C++ defi...

Index abuse
How resilient is Dovecot's indexing mechanism? (seeing as it's been extensively re-vamped I guess this question may have different answers for 0.99 & 1.0). To put it in context, I'm playing with server-side automatic maintenance scripts for things like deleting messages more than x days old from folders a, b, c, etc. (using Maildir layout). So far I'm just zapping files in
