icecast 1.3.9
This took longer than it should have. Icecast 1.3.9 fixes all the known security problems, and also adresses many that weren't reported, thanks to a code audit by John Viega. If you for some reason have problems with 1.3.9 that prevent you from using it, please, please, please make sure you don't run icecast as root, or make sure you have patched the problem areas yourself. MySQL vs SQLite
I have an application where speed is probably the #1 priority here. I am using MySQL 5.0.22. Would SQL be considerably faster than MySQL? I know this has been discussed before, but the search on the forums is not working. Thanks for your help. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Reporting with Rails
Hi all, I was wondering how you guys generate reports from rails. I want to generate business reports in pdf format, and was wondering what you guys use. I have searched the web and found Ruport, but there isn''t much documentation or examples of real world business reports like jasperreports, for instance. Is it possible to generate good looking business reports with ruport? What other

Firebird adapter HELP???????
Hi All, Is anyone successfully using ROR 2.x with Firebird 2.x in a production environment? The support seems to have dwindled. I would greatly appreciate any installation guidelines, comments or tips. What is somewhat confusing is what is required to for ROR to play nicely with firebird. I have come across fireruby, fb_adapter, fb-0.5.9...there does not seem to be cohesive install /

Rails + Firebird 2.1.x
Hi all, I have played with JRuby on Rails in the past and managed to make it work with Firebird. Although migrations did not work, I managed to do everything manually and it worked. Now, I am working with Ruby on Rails and was wondering if anyone here has managed to get Rails to work with Firebird 2.1.x. If yes, what were the steps? I installed fb and fb_adapter, and I get the following error:

I think it can be useful in a scenario like: - Large UPS, that powers 2 hosts: one is VMServer with just a small boot driver and the second is a NAS with all the disks for the first server. - UPS is connected by USB to another host (such as a small Raspberry PI), acting as the NUT primary. - Both machines served by UPS are NUT secondaries. - The NAS box can only shutdown one the VMware is fully

Predictive Dialers
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how predictive dialers detect voicemail and answering machines, and if they could explain to me how that works. Thanks! Brian.

Powering off the big stuff first
One thing that I think NUT misses is the client side being able to decide to shutdown by itself based on time (this can be done), battery charge (ex if bellow 10%), and estimated runtime left (if available and considered reliable/calibrated). Without having to sort on the LB state from the server. Sent from my iPhone with ? iTypos > On Jul 16, 2023, at 4:34 PM, Willcox David via Nut-upsuser

Authlogic and rails 3 : NameError in User sessionsController#new
Hi everybody, I''ve installed Authlogic on Rails 3 following the Railscast (http:// railscasts.com/episodes/160-authlogic), and the resources I was able to find on the web, but I''m facing a problem. Once I''ve generated the user_sessions controller and mapped the login and logout routes, I get an error if I try to load the login page : uninitialized constant

Setting up charge/voltage based shutdowns
Hello all again, While looking at https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/2014 I understood that I am not sure if currently NUT has a standard way of triggering a shutdown based on remaining charge or runtime, if a device/driver lacks a `battery.charge.low` setting but has readings for the values themselves. Such an ability rings a bell to me, but maybe it is specific to some drivers
