Semi-OT Part 2: Videophone
Following the recommendations here I've ordered a couple different
Polycom & Aastra phones to play with speaker phones.
One of our next big projects is Video. I know Grandstream has a video
phone, has anyone used it. Anyone have any other recommendations?
Thanks,
Ken

Video support SIP and IAX2
Hi,
I've gotten hold of a few SIP videophones and would love to be able to
transfer the video-feed from RTP through IAX2 which is used between two
asterisk boxes:
Videophone (SIP) -> * (IAX2) -> * (SIP) -> Videophone
I did get nice video between the two phones when they were registered to the
same * box, but over IAX2 it won't...

combine external video source and audio call to make SIP video call?
I'd like to cobble together a videophone from an analog phone,
connected to an Asterisk FXS channel, and a co-located video camera,
connected to a video grabber card on the Asterisk server (so I have a
Linux video device providing the video stream). When a call is made
from the phone, I'd like to somehow add the video and produce a S...

MeetMe Video option
Hello All:
Has anyone configured a meetme conference to use video?
I have successfully used video phones to talk through *, but I cannot seem
to get video when those phones dial into a meetme conference.
Is there something else that I need to be doing other than set the "v" flag
on my extension for the meetme app?
Thanks,
Tim

Is anyone using * for 2 way video conferencing?
Hi,
One of my clients, wants to use * box to run weekly meetings between remote
locations over the internet.
What would be the best configuration for this? We are talking about two
conference rooms.
I am referring to the actual hardware/software and bandwidth requirements
for this to work well.
I have run two software video phones and I had marginal results with it when
displayed on large LCDs,

Outgoing SIP packets out of order?
Hello, I've been looking at some SIP packet dumps captured with tcpdump on the
PBX itself, and analyzed with Wireshark 0.99.4. I'm noticing something
strange, at least to me. All of the SIP packets going out from our Asterisk
PBX to either of our 2 VoIP providers are consistently 50% out of order. In
addition, if I use Wireshark's voip call player, the outgoing side of the

GSM phones, bluetooth and general happiness
When I installed my first home-PBX three years ago, I was looking at
"cellsockets" -- devices which will accept certain cellular phones and
provide an RJ11 jack, generating the ring-voltage and recognizing DTMF,
which in turn makes your cell-phone look like a CO line. Pretty cool
stuff, in theory, but it just didn't seem to be worth the cost,
especially since it locks you to a

Broadvoice + Videosupport=yes - Fails!
Hi All
First time poster, long time reader.
I just ran into something really bizarre. I've enabled videosupport and
have been testing sip calls with Xten Eyebeam software, it works
(mostly)
However, when I have
Videosupport=yes
In the [general] section of my sip.conf, broadvoice calls fail w/ "We're
sorry your call cannot be completed at this time"
So... I've

Dear David,
I hope it's ok to forward your email to the developer lists. I have not
seen a comprehensive scheme for MIME type naming and file extensions for
ogg files yet - please anybody put me in the picture if there is.
However, I have seen application/x-ogg used for ogg-vorbis files, which
is according to MIME type registration rules an unregistered and
