Videoconference one-to-many
Dear all, I've implemented an Asterisk 1.4 with SIP service for voip and video. So I can establish a voip + video connection *one-to-one* only....it works OK. But I'd like to implement a videoconference *one-to-many* in order to intercommunicate many clients, is it possible with Asterisk 1.4 ??? (multicast is better than brodcast in this situation of course) Thanks a lot, Alejandro

Speex + Ogg package
sorry, no webchat, is a videoconference program. And I'm using UDP as you can read down on the mail. The problem is that speex packages alone work great, but to split speex/theora packages on the arrive I need to use some kind of container, and I'm trying ogg. Asterisk, SER & Jabber
Hi all, I was wondering if someone could explain the relationship of Asterisk, SER & Jabber (XMPP) to me. I understand that there are facilities within Asterisk to use jabber to notify of incoming calls via XMPP clients, however I'm trying to work out exactly where the SER server would sit in all of this and what it's actual role would be. This might seem like a silly

Very simple traffic shaping script for H.323
Hello - What I want to do seems very simple - I want to make sure any H.323 traffic gets processed before anything else entering or leaving this network. The network has a videoconferencing device on the LAN at 192.168.16.4. A Linux firewall NATs an external IP Address to this internal address and I have appropriate SNAT and DNAT rules that work. The NAT and connection tracking rules all work

Videoconferencing with speex and jabber
...lf. I'm a software developer working for a big car company in germany (the fast ones) and i am part of the engine control team. Topic: This mail contains some questions how to support videoconferencing with the jabber protocol. Why i doing this: My mother live in california and i want to make videoconferences with her. She use WinXP and is never even thinking off to change to linux. My newest Windows is 98 and Microsoft doesn't support Videoconferencing between 98 and XP anymore. I was never happy with the M$ Netmeeting stuff, because i have to nearly switch off my firewall to let this messy H323...

Hi Julio, I would definitely appreciate if you could send me an example of that. Please send 1) the input file, 2) the speex-encoded file and 3) the decoded file (that becomes unstable). Best practise for ISDN Video Conferencing..
Hi All, I'm about to setup an Asterisk install to take over an old legacy PBX system. At present, the legacy system has modules in it which provides 4 * data ISDN links to the video conferencing unit (Tandberg 3000 MXP) on site, these use the ISDN30 (uk) that the normal voice calls go over. Is it possible to emulate this in asterisk? I've seen zapras but I'm not sure if that's

new cisco ip video phone?
Hi, Just finished watching the season finale of '24' the TV series. Throughout the series they have been showcasing Cisco hardware especially Cisco IP phones (7970's). On the last episode or two they showed what seemed to me a new cisco IP video phone. It stands just as a 12" lcd screen with the cisco branding/logo and letters just as the 79xx series. I wonder if this is a

Speex + Ogg package
I'm currently working on a speex + theora webchat. I have both working alone, but to make them work together and to know where the package goes, I'm trying to use ogg packages. With theora there has been no problem, but with speex I can't make it work. The problem is that for a second it works great, but then it begings to gain lag, and in a little time it has 5-10 lag seconds (into

latest skype (version 8.16.0.4) on Centos 7
Hi all! I've finally been reduced to having to install Skype on my Linux box. I resisted for years, but now ended up trying it. and while the latest RPM installs just fine, it refuses to acknowledge that I have a microphone! In fact I have two: 1 in the USB web cam (it finds the cam), the second in a Plantronics USB headset, which works fine but not with skype. it is as if it doesn't
