domU shutdown with cx88 crashes dom0
...80820
cx88[0]: ptr1_reg: 0xffffffff
cx88[0]: ptr2_reg: 0xffffffff
cx88[0]: cnt1_reg: 0xffffffff
cx88[0]: cnt2_reg: 0xffffffff
This loops forever eating every available cpu cycle. The dom0 becomes
unusably slow until I manually destroy the domU.
The domU runs 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5xen with
video4linux-kmdl-2.6.18-128.1.10.el5xen-20090415-88.0.4.el5 (there are
no video4linux-kmdls for the latest kernel yet).
Manually unloading the modules before shutting down has no effect.
Without video4linux-kmdl installed, everything works fine.
I hope you can help me. Regards,
Chris

Unsupported Kernel for X86_64 and i386
All,
There have been many requests for added kernel features that the
upstream provider left out of the standard kernel. (ReiserFS,
Video4Linux, Firewire support, XFS, NTFS, JFS, etc.).
We want the main release CDs to contain a standard kernel for
compatibility and stability reasons. CentOS is created as a clone, and
it needs to be as close as possible to the upstream distro.
That being said, the 2.6.9 kernel has lots of features that a...

utility to find which /dev/videoX
is there a utility or SOME method to
determine which /dev/videoX (like /dev/video0 or /dev/video1)
is being used by a device???
Example I have a USB camera and a USB TV module
how do I determine which device is on /dev/video0 and which is on
/dev/video1
I have seen perhaps a way in dmesg but I am looking for the
BEST way and the correct way.
Thanks,
Jerry

encoding to many clients
Hi!
I am new to video encoding and streaming so this question may sound silly.
However I want to create a simple application which would get video frames from
video device (video4linux) encode them using theora and then send to
clients.
The question is: do I have to encode the stream for each client
seperately? It would be ideally to have one encoded stream and send it
to as many clients as it is needed. I wanted to do so, but I have seperate
Ogg streams for each client and whe...

OpenHDCapture
I just saw this project referenced on the video4linux mailing list, and
I thought others on this list might be interested (assuming they don't
already know about it):
http://www.opencircuits.com/OpenHDCapture
To summarize, the goal is to develop an open hardware device that can
capture video at 720p30 (1280x720, 30fps). At the moment I am not s...

Radio software
Hi List,
Does anyone know of any type of radio tuner software available for
CentOS in either 32 or 64-bit versions? The card is an ATI X600. I've
got the video driver from ATI installed, but they do not have any other
user level software available. I think I remember reading something
about some software being available for the BT chipset, but I'm a tad
out of date on that.

Getting something into centosplus for 5.2?

much traction from Red Hat as far as them updating the kernel. So every
time there's an updated kernel, I have to rebuild the srpm.
I figure that this is the kind of situation that -plus is meant to
solve... I've already had to switch one of my boxes over to plus today
given that the video4linux srpm (from atrpms) won't rebuild easily on
2.6.18-92.1.6.el5, and I'm thinking that having both on plus with
everything I need in them would make it a lot easier...
(There's already precedent here... I found
linux-2.6.18-bz443853_powernow_null_deref.patch and

5.5 & gspca
Irritating quirkyness: we have a bunch of videocams. To use, we use gspca.
Usually, on an upgrade, I just go into the gspca directory (which appears,
from their website, to have not been updated since '07), make clean, make,
make install.
Having gone up to 5.5, did the same. What's happening now is that it
works, delivers the mpgs... but dumps errors in the logs:

4.2 upgrade and kernels
Just curious about kernel requirements after the upgrade. I've been
running the 2.6.9-11.106.unsupported kernel for some time. Now I see
that the base kernel is up to 2.6.9-22.EL.
Are there any plans to upgrade the unsupported kernel?
Should I be using the newer kernel after the upgrade?
Does it make any difference?
Not trying to be pushy; just looking for information.
Thanks for all the

Video conference apps/appliances?
So, I keep seeing references in the codebase to "video conference"
uses for Asterisk. However, I am unaware of what end devices are
currently supported by Asterisk.
Searching through the archives for the term "video", I see a few
other people have asked the same question, with no real reply.
Nobody, it seems, has actually tested any video phones on Asterisk
other than

Quick question: CentOSPlus kernel vs. base kernel.
What does the CentOSPlus kernel have that the standard kernel does not?
It is just additional drivers and modules? Or are there additional
differences?

Driver for Logitech QuickCam E2500 series webcam
Does anybody know where I can find a driver for a Logitech E2500 webcam.
I'm running CentOS 5 on my desktop and want to add a webcam for skype
use. If I can yum install a driver from one of the repos that would be
great.

Video capture on CentOS (6)
Hello,
I need to do some analog video capture and I was wondering what is the
status of this in CentOS 6.
The last information I could find was here (obviously for CentOS 5):
http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2009-September/082521.html
Could anybody recommend a not-too-expensive video capture cards (PCI,
USB, fireWire, ...) which would be well supported (drivers easily
available in base,
