search for: video0

is there a utility or SOME method to determine which /dev/videoX (like /dev/video0 or /dev/video1) is being used by a device??? Example I have a USB camera and a USB TV module how do I determine which device is on /dev/video0 and which is on /dev/video1 I have seen perhaps a way in dmesg but I am looking for the BEST way and the correct way. ...#39;ve a pchdtv-3000 card I am trying to record from. I can successfully record audio/video using streamer or watch television with audio using tvtime, so I know the audio is there. I want to record directly to theora. I am trying to do so using ffmpeg2theora like so: ffmpeg2theora --v4l /dev/video0 -o test.ogg This records video but no audio. Should I be able to do this?
