[PATCH RFC] vhost: convert pre sorted vhost memory array to interval tree
Current pre-sorted memory region array has some limitations for future device IOTLB conversion: 1) need extra work for adding and removing a single region, and it's expected to be slow because of sorting or memory re-allocation. 2) need extra work of removing a large range which may intersect several regions with different size. 3) need trick for a replacement policy like LRU To

[PATCH 0/2] vhot-net: Use kvm_memslots instead of vhost_memory to translate GPA to HVA
From: Hongyong Zang <zanghongyong at huawei.com> Vhost-net uses its own vhost_memory, which results from user space (qemu) info, to translate GPA to HVA. Since kernel's kvm structure already maintains the address relationship in its member *kvm_memslots*, these patches use kernel's kvm_memslots directly without the need of initialization and maintenance of vhost_memory. [RFC PATCH V2 0/2] basic device IOTLB support
This patch tries to implement an device IOTLB for vhost. This could be used with for co-operation with userspace(qemu) implementation of iommu for a secure DMA environment (DMAR) in guest. The idea is simple. When vhost meets an IOTLB miss, it will request the assistance of userspace to do the translation, this is done through: - Fill the translation request in a preset userspace address (This

[PATCH RFC] vhost: add ioctl to query nregions upper limit
Userspace currently simply tries to give vhost as many regions as it happens to have, but you only have the mem table when you have initialized a large part of VM, so graceful failure is very hard to support. The result is that userspace tends to fail catastrophically. Instead, add a new ioctl so userspace can find out how much kernel supports, up front. This returns a positive value that we

[PATCH] vhost: access check thinko fixes
This fixes two issues with recent access checking patch: 1. if (&d->vqs[i].private_data) -> if (d->vqs[i].private_data) 2. we can't forbid log base changes while ring is running, because host needs to resize log in rare cases (e.g. when memory is added with a baloon) and in that case it needs to increase log size with realloc, which might move the log address.
