It might require a vgexport then vgimport to fix.
vgimport man page:

exported

replace x86 with x64 system and reuse existing LVM
I want to replace an existing 32bit with a 64bit installation (Centos 5).
There's an existing LVM with lots of partitions. Most are used for Xen
guests. The system itself uses only one of them plus a separate /boot
partition that is not on LVM.
What's the best course of action here? Should I do the reinstall with
kickstart or better manually and reuse the existing filesystem? As I

Preserving LVM after after os reload
Hi guys,
I have two disks, one with OS and a second disk containing an LVM. I
would like to OS reload the server without losing LVM.
I heard that LVM is self sustaining. Is that true ? Should I backup
something(using vgcfgbackup & vgexport ?) to get LVM running after
os reload.
Thanks in advance.

ssm vs. lvm: moving physical drives and volume group to another system
.../data
Works.
cd to /mnt/data and I can see the files left on the volume from the
previous tests.
Moving/copying/read/write -- works.

3. Is it safe to assume when using RedHat System Storage Manager it's
not necessary to use the lvm commands (vgexport and vgimport) to move
two physical drives containing a logical volume in raid 1 from one
computer to another?
Thanks for your help and guidance.

LVM and hotswap (USB/iSCSI) devices?
Hi list,
I'm having one of those 'I'm stupid' -problems with LVM on CentOS 5.2.
I've been working with traditional partitions until now, but I've
finally been sold on the theoretical benefits of using LVM, but for now
I only have a huge pile of broken filesystems to show for my efforts.
My scenario;
I attach a disk, either over USB or iSCSI.
I create a PV on this
