vfsv0 quota in 2.4.15?
hiya!
now, after linus handing over the 2.4 branch to Marcelo Tosatti to work
on 2.5, alan seems to have stopped working on the 2.4 ac tree, therefore
loosing the vfsv0 quota code in the recent kernels.
does anybody know if alan is going to continiue working on the 2.4 ac tree
or marcelo is going to include it in the 2.4 default branch? i don't want
to wait for 2.5 :)
best regards

linux-2.4.9-ac5, ext3 and disk quota
...e only test quota code against the -ac kernels - this is supported

which is given on:
http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/ext3-usage.html
When setting up the disk quotas I have to choice between two available
quota formats:
vfsold - original quota format
and
vfsv0 - new quota format
Now, my question is: Does the above quoted statment have something to do
with the selection of the quota format? That means: Do I have to use the
new format "vfsv0" to avoid conflicts with "ext3" or is also the
"vfsold"-code that comes with Alan Co...

ext3 - max filesystem size
Hi all,
I am working with a pc cluster, running redhat el 4, on opteron cpus. we
have several bigger RAID systems locally attached to the fileservers;
now I would like to create a big striped filesystem with around 15TB.
ext3 unfortunatelly only supports filesystem size up to 8TB, do you have
an idea if / when this border will be increased ? I already found some
discussions on LKML about it ?

journaled quotas in CentOS6?

quotacheck: Your kernel probably supports journaled quota but you
are not using it.
I liked sound of that, so i brushed up on the procedure and modified the
mount line in fstab to: defaults,noatime,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0
on doing a mount /HOMES -o remount, i was met with this:
mount: /HOMES not mounted already, or bad option
and was unable to mount the filesystem until i removed the journaling
options
I've come across how-tos and blogs by people who were doing this in
CentOS6.5. The mount manpage ma...

So, what about stable quota support in ext3fs?
Good evening.
We have some heavy-loaded servers on ext2, and we want to
migrate to ext3fs. But we need full and stable quota support.
I have headrd that there are some problems in quota usage under
ext3fs. Is it true? Should we decline the ext3 usage as
impossible in our servers?
We need high-level stability in our server (hosting).
Thanks before.

quota problems with ext3/249-ac9
Hi!
I've got some "serious" quota-problems with ext3... it seems not to work
at all...
I'm currently running 249-ac9 with no patches, slackware 7.x-current from
january or so, all the quota-utils from the original distribution.
the kernel prompts correctly "VFS: Diskquotas version dquot_6.5.0
initialized" and that was it. neither quotacheck nor repquota or any other

EXT3 and Quotas
I seem to be experiencing difficulties with using quotas with EXT3.
quota.user, quota.group, aquota.user, and aquota.group are present.
The mount point for the device is /mass/ican2 and the device is /dev/sda1
Here is what I get when I run quotaon -a
[root@ican2 ican2]# quotaon -a
quotaon: using /mass/ican2/quota.user on /dev/sda1: Invalid argument
The quota.user files have just been touched,

Windows 7 32 bit doesn't "upload" the profile to the server on logout but Windows 7 64 bit does
...without SP1. I don't see any
relevant error on any log, or any error dialog and users are marked as
"roaming".
On the server side:
I'm using ldap as backend for users and I'm using ext3 mounted with
"rw,acl,user_xattr,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0".
Quotas are still not used, I will work on that as soon I get everything
working.
