problems with permissions on windows
...n them. All other files work OK (can be read and deleted), but .exe files don't. I use -rpvztl switches for rsync. I need to explicitely execute "chmod 777 bin/*" after each rsync call and I don't understand why. Original files have their permissions set to 755. - If I use vfat32 partition on a dual boot machine (Mac OS X) and copy (rsync) windows binaries under linux, the binaries work fine when switching back to windows. - If I zip the files on the server, download the zip and extract files on windows, the binaries also work OK. - I should test once more. I experienced pr...

wine quit working; says "unhandled exception"
Hi! I have been a moderate user of WINE for a few months and it has worked fairly well for the couple of applications that I have tried to run. My SuSE 8.1 Linux laptop is laid out as / linux (reiserfs) /mnt/win windows c: (vfat32) /mnt/chunk windows d: (vfat32) and I have previously had no problems either running WINE or booting into Win98. I have been able to call my program as wine /mnt/win/apps/concord/concord.exe 2>/dev/null & and even wine /mnt/win/apps/concord/concord.exe "c:\\tmp\\thisweek.cit&...

...BL 460 Gen9 servers with FW I36 07/21/2015, which is >the latest one available, even if I could try to get a beta one if >needed. So as a summary of what I've tried up to now: The ISO image I make with the script previously shown has now 4 different efi binaries to boot from in the same VFAT32 image embedded on the ISO with either mksiofs (from RHEL7) or upstream xorriso. With syslinux 6.03, syslinux from Gene git or syslinux with debug symbols I get the red screens previously shared, and that I've seen mentioned in some other messages here, even from people trying with PXE. With g...

Do you mean that from the EFI shell you can read the content of the FAT image and you can find (from the EFI shell) the relevant efi boot file (which should be a copy of 'sy...

For what reason the "official" Wine does not support USB ?
Hello A lot of windows application need access to an USB port. For Wine a library (or a patch) exists to manage that but it is not include in the "official" release. If we want to work with this USB port, we have to compile a personal version of Wine, but this is not really obvious for every body. Why this feature is not include in the release ? Do you plan an official release with
