Asterisk executable suddenly about 40KB larger - modules
...disabled prelinking (thanks Tony!) and I'll see if that helps. Interesting thing I've now discovered (had this failure again at the head office this morning) is the "growth" in the file's size is precipitated by Asterisk crashing with (in /var/log/messages): Jan 8 06:13:27 veridial kernel: asterisk[7856]: segfault at 00002aaaaaae0900 rip 00002aaaaaae0900 rsp 0000000041e9ad88 error 15 So the sequence is the running Asterisk segfaults, and when it is restarted ODBC functionality is broken and the executable in /usr/sbin is += 40kb larger than before. As for the segfault, when...

CentOS Folding team breaks through the 250 ranking barrier!
Congratulations to each and every member of the CentOS Folding at home team for helping to break through the 250 ranking barrier. This means that we're now in the top 250 of the world! Well done to each and every one of you :) The netx target of 200 will be harder, but achievable. Keep on with the good work of crunching those work units, the team benefits with the team ranking, and

Using .sign PGP/GnuPGP/gpg
I have never used PGP nor GnuPG, but I understand that it has more features beyond using say MD5 to verify my downloads. I noticed Wine has a .sign file (i.e. wine-0.9.40.tar.bz2.sign for wine-0.9.40.tar.bz2). I installed http://macgpg.sourceforge.net/ (which has an MD5 for download verification), and since I never used PGP/GnuPG, the instructions seem to just say to create a keypair, which I

Diablo 2 on FC5 in fullscreen
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, I can play Diablo 2 in a window (wine Diablo\ II.exe -w) and it plays fine. But when I don't specify the -w option on command line. Diablo will start but the Gnome panels on the top and bottom stay on top and so those panels interfere with my playing of the game. I would like to be able to play full screen as it is a little easier that way.

control.exe
Does the control.exe wine application still work? I go to .wine/drive_c/windows/system32 and run wine control And it tells me that it can't load any applets. I know I have used this before to run the uninstaller. I am using Wine 0.9 Kevin -- Get my public GnuPG key from http://keyserver.veridis.com:11371/export?id=7574690260641978351 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

Diablo II, Wine and GCC 4.0
I was reading the notes about using Diablo II under Wine and I noticed that one of the requirements was not to have Wine compiled with gcc 4.0. Is this still the case and if so why would the compiler make a difference? I know I could run with a cracked version of Diablo II, but I would prefer not to. Thanks, Kevin -- Get my public GnuPG key from

Team CentOS breaks though the 200 ranking barrier.
Congratulations to all the CentOS folding at home team members for breaking through the 200 world ranking barrier. Its taken a bit of time but we've all helped to do it. Our next target is obviously to achieve 150th in the world ranking. But, to help achieve that we're going to need more members and more machines. So, if you think it sounds interesting and you want to learn more, then
