VirtualDub and enconding with DivX, XviD
...ss a
avs-file with the DivX-codec. It crashes if trying to. Also, it would be
nice to compress an
mpeg-source with Xvid but also it crashes. BTW, VirtualDub does
not list it in its codecs window ?f "msvfw32" is set to "native,
builtin".
Does anyone have experiences getting VDub working (compressing) with the
mentioned codecs?

Theora branch and win/mac codecs
...-the-dots between both MAC and Windows toolsets to the final OGG/Vorbis/Theora bitstream. Monty & I have discussed this, and I think we're on the same page. The only problem is that there are some pretty thorny format limitations, especially wrt AVI files and the old VFW interfaces (which Vdub and some other popular programs use). These problems will necessitate putting some limits on what kinds of streams can be generated, so the codec versions (particularly on the audio side) may end up being subsets of the full OGG spec.
Right now, I am basically the de-facto point person on compil...

Anybody running VirtualDub ?
Hi!
I just tried to run VirtualDub 1.5.10 with current wine from CVS.
The program runs, but when the video playback is started (or even the video
file is just loaded), all the screen except the window with the first video
frame goes black. The video is played properly. All is alive and well,
underlying windows/icons are there and they react on the mouse, windows can
be moved (if You find their

OGG - questions
Helo.
I intend to use OGG audio in DivX movies because its excellent
size/quality ratio. I was searching round many forums concering DivX
conversion but didn't find satisfatory answer. So I send my question
to you directly:
1,I am able to play movie with OGG audio on my PC but not on another
one though I have installed last OGG Direct show filters.

acm codec
does there exist anywhere a useful source version of an ACM for vorbis
audio? I've seen the binary one somewhere in Japan, and there's an
abandoned project at SourceForge, but I'm having a helluva time building
it.
I know all the caveats about CBR vs. VBR, ACM/AVI problems etc. but I need
it anyway.
Thanks in advance -

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault Problems
I've noticed a couple problems running Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault under Ubuntu 10.04 using Wine 1.1.44 and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix them.
1) The video is incredibly slow...it's similar to a fullscreen game running in a window (for lack of a better description), although I'm playing the game in fullscreen.
2) The mouse cursor remains present even after the game
