XCP: 2TB limit on raw VDIs
It seems that in XCP 1.0, VDIs have a size limit of 2TB, even when
sm-config:type=raw is set. I understand the 2TB limit when using VHD,
but shouldn''t that limit be relaxed for raw?

Bug#687319: xcp-storage-managers: CDROM VDIs don't hotplug in guests because ISO SRs are misconfigured
Package: xcp-storage-managers
Version: 0.1.1-2ubuntu1
Severity: normal
This bug prevents CDROM VDIs from being hotplugged into guest
VMs. The issue is that the NFS ISO SR configures the ISO VDIs to
be 'file' types, which it should configure them to by 'phy'
types. This breaks on Debian's Xen because the Debian hotplug
scripts are more robuse than the ones on XenServer, and fai...

Samba DC + VDI Microsoft
Good afternoon people,
I don't know if you can help me, I set up a Lab and I'm testing the
creation of VDIs using a dc samba, that's the scenario.
1) Samba domain controller 4.13
2) Windows 2019 server as a member of the domain, in it I installed hyper-v
and in it I configured the remote desktop service.
I set up the template and when I create the pool I take the following error.

how to share vdi among several xcp pools
hi
I am having several pools of xcp with NFS shared storage as default SR
on each pool and i want to do following in this arrangement
-I want to share vdis among all pools, i.e. for example if I want to
detach a vdi from a vm in pool-1 to a vm in pool-2.
so is this possible to do so?
vdi export is one of the solution but i want to do it seamlessly just
like it happens within the same pool or without actually moving vdi over
network because all th...

NADA Package: Referencing Data Frame Columns
...eq1,
floor, and ceiling values are available for each site, sampdate, and
chemical.
Is the appropriate way to use the NADA methods for analyses and plotting
to subset each chemical separately from the 'chem' data frame? Or, is there
a syntax other than, for example,
cenboxplot(chem&Vdis, chem$ceneq1, chem$era)
Error in cenros(obs[group == i], cen[group == i]) :
error in evaluating the argument 'obs' in selecting a method for function
'ros': Error: object 'Vdis' not found
I get the same error when trying to use the 'chem.cast' data frame.

zfs unmount returns with Invalid Argument
Anyone have any idea on this.
I wanted to separate out my VirtualBox VDIs so that I could activate compression on the rest of the parent directory structure so I created a ZFS filesystem under my user directory.
mv .VirtualBox .VirtualBox_orig
zfs create /export/home/user/.VirtualBox
zfs create /export/home/user/.VirtualBox/VDI
zfs set compression=off /export/home/user/...

LVM SR-backend, vm-clone - find out dependent logical volumes
Dear all,
for sake of speed I cloned some vms (using vm-clone instead of vm-copy).
I am also doing backups using snapshotting and I have some read-only
logical volumes left on the volume group. (I am using XCP 1.1 beta)
This would not be the problem since if there are no VDIs corresponding
to the logical volumes I think I can clean up and get more storage.
Yet I am not sure about cloned VMs and how they use logical volumes.
Is there a tool to see which logical volumes are depending on a running VM?
Thanks in advance,
Jakob

How to create snapshots for sheepdog with libvirt API
...as vps vpssnap --disk-only --diskspec vda, snapshot=no --diskspec vdb, snapshot=internal
virsh creates a snapshot, but this snapshot is useless. If i try to revert to this snapshot i get an error: "qemu-img: Could not open 'sheepvol1': No such file or directory", plus if I list all VDIs with "collie vdi list" I do not see any snapshots there. So i guess virsh does not create an appropriate sheepdog snapshot at all.
Can someone please tell me how to create snapshots for sheepdog disks?
Thank you.

Virtual to physical migration
I had created a virtualbox VM to test out opensolaris. I updated to latest dev build and set my things up. Tested pools and various configs/commands. Learnt format/partition etc.
And then, I wanted to move this stuff to a solaris partition on the physical disk. VB provides physical disk access. I put my solaris partition in there and created slices for root, swap etc. in that partition inside the

[Xen-API] problem with snapshot unallocation
Hi all,
i use XCP 0.5 with a NFS storage repository and normally i do daily
snapshots from all VMs i have, as follow:
1) create snapshot
2) export snapshot to file
3) delete snapshot
One day I get the VM error "Snapshot chain is too long". I notice however
that this appears to only VM''s with more than 1 attached virtual disk. In my
case I have a couple

Rsync of LVM Snapshots copies whole file
Hello, anybody has a clue why this happens?
The scenario:
Each night I create LVM snapshot of my volume which contains some
virtual disk images (VirtualBox VDIs). Then I rsync the content of one
of the snapshot directories to a backup server. Each file size is
between 1.3 GB and 6GB.
I run the following commmand:
sudo -u rsyncbackup rsync -avzP --exclude-from
/home/rsyncbackup/excludefile -e ssh
"192.168.0.3:/mnt/vdi_snapshot/VDI/mit_backup"...
