Scalability of Dovecot in the Cloud
Does anyone have any idea of how many IMAP connections a single cloud VM (4 vCores at 2.4GHz, 30GB RAM, local SSD storage - non-RAID) can be expected to handle in production. The mailboxes are fairly small (average 5MB total - 50MB max, as I don?t store attachments in Dovecot expect those saved through IMAP in the Sent/Drafts folders) and each user will probably have an average...

Send your comments to networkmag@cmp.com Mark Spencer, I caught your presentation at the Linux-Kongress http://graphics.cs.uni-sb.de/VCORE/recordings.html . I want to personally thank you for validating all that I have been doing to promote Asterisk to anyone and everyone who will take the time to listen. When I talk about it and show off working systems in action, people get excited and are quite impressed. Having your 30 min pres...

Pitching Asterisk
The company I work for is looking at vendors for a PBX, one of the requirements is VoIP. I have been sitting there listening to people pitch very proprietary implementations of VoIP where you are locked in to their hardware, their interface... I know a little bit about asterisk (set up a couple offices with it... run it at home...) and would like to pitch it to this company. Does someone have a

I just about have my PV block device drivers booting, except just before the login screen appears I get a message that the registry couldn''t be written out. I''m pretty sure that this is because some data from the int13 interface provided by the qemu intel ide driver that has been written, hasn''t actually made it to the block device (lvm volume in my case). Best dom0 for GPU pass through?
Hi all- I''ve been working with XenServer for years but have decided to build a home server running the latest version of Xen to do GPU pass through to a Win 7 x64 Media Center. What is the best dom0 OS to install to enable this? I''ve seen lots of people using Debian Squeeze, but I wonder why that is being chosen rather than say Ubuntu 12.04 which has a much newer stock kernel?

Is it possible to set asterisk up as a virtual pbx like in apache and virtual host? If so can someone point me to the right direction. I would also like to setup asterisk with some type of redundancy, I have searched the lists and googled but havent really found anything, I would be willing to put together a paper if I had the info and make it available, through asterisk doc project or

Problem reading vitals from Gigabyte H77-DH3H
Hello everyone, I'm unable to read temperature Gigabyte H77-DH3H motherboard. Is that motherboard supported or am I doing it incorrectly? When trying to access hw.acpi.thermal everything appears to be ok, but it is not, the system always returns 27,8C and 29,8C which fooled me initially - the values never change. Here is output: [chinatsu]:/root# sysctl hw.acpi.thermal

gaming on multiple OS of the same machine?
Hi, I am new to Xen and I was wondering if the following construction would be feasible with the current Xen. I would like to put 2/3/4 new computers in my house, mainly for gaming. Instead of buying 2/3/4 different computers, I was thinking of building one computer with a 4/6/8-core CPU, 2/3/4 GPUs, 2/3/4 small SSDs, and attach 2/3/4 monitors to it, 2/3/4 keyboards and 2/3/4 mouses, and run VGA

Not enough storage space error
Hello Andrew & Louis, Yesterday by around 1:30 PM we had the same issue. Samba AD kicked all of us out and RSAT did not connect to any domain controllers. /*Incidentally the RSAT that caused this error was running on Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit edition.*/ When I restarted the samba-ad-dc service, all started working well again. However, as mentioned again, I could not trace the error
