Extracting Sequence Data from a Vector
...tems of information A) the first number in the sequence (e.g., 1, 6, 10) and B) how many observations were in each sequence section (e.g., 3, 2, 4). v1 v2 1 3 6 2 10 4 It seems simple, but my R skills are still in their infancy so I very much appreciate the help. [LLVMdev] Failed to decode profile dump with llvm-prof
Turns out I was using `opt -profile-loader` instead of `opt -path-profile-loader`. Switching to the path profile loader fixed the problem. VT built in?
Hi Xen team, one short question before I grab the new machine of a colleague: did you build Xen3 for Sid with VMX (virtualization with the newer Vander...Pacifica)? Or will I have to build it myself? Sorry for the direct mail to this list, but I'm not subscribed to Debian-Users. Please CC me, as I'm also not subsribed here. Running stats on individual data.frames from the split() function list
...means for me to process the entire list x so that I needn't call each data.frame (i.e., day) from list x individually? No doubt there is a more sophisticated way to obtain this information from the outset, but I'm not yet familiar with it. BUG: messages created with permissions not respecting umask
Using dovecot 1.0rc15, together with postfix and dovecot-lda. umask is set to 0007. This should ensure directories and files get created with read/write permissions for both user and group. However, dovecot-lda writes files with 600 permissions, instead of 660. So dovecot does not seem to respect the umask configuration property for local mail delivery. In my particular case, I have

Running "all possible subsets" of a GLM (binomial) model
I have spent a fair amount of time looking for a package that is automated to run glm (binomial) regression models with all possible subsets of my independent variables. Something akin to Lumley's "leaps" package, but can be applied to glms, not just lms; or something similar to Stata's brute force "tryem" function? If anyone can point me in the right direction I

Hey all, I''ve recently started messing around with Prototype again, so I thought I''d start small and write 5 lines of code that would check if all fields in a form are filled out. So I thought document.observe(''dom:loaded'', function() { $(''submNewUser'').disable(); new Form.Observer($(''newUser''), 0.3, function(e, val) {

Theora file extension
Theora and Vorbis both uses same extension .ogg. I know ogg is a container, just like avi. But in my opinion video and audio files should have different extensions (using .ogv can be a nice idea). To a media player it doesn't matter what extension a file uses, but to a human who does a ls in a directory full of media files having different extensions will help a lot. I know one can use file

icecast-1.3.12 on SunOS
Thomas, unfortunately it does slow down the machine. I am working in a chroot enviroment and there are other users on the same box. Therefore it's of special importance that I don't consume the cpu by myself. Titus Am Sonntag den, 15. Newbe: OK so far?
OK, I found LAME's web site and installed it using the source for it. That appears to work. I also found a couple of libxml... packages and either replaced the existing ones and added a few others. That went without problem. However the same problem exists. I found that the lame.h file is in a directory of /root/lame3.70 Perhaps the make can't find it at this directory? IS there

lost status code
Rsync reports the status code of the remote command. So in some situations the status code is successful when the command fails. Rsync of a remote file to a local read-only directory fails, but exits with $status = 0. I'd like to get $status = 23. Is it possible? Local copy fails with status = 23 > mkdir /tmp/nowrite > chmod -w /tmp/nowrite > rsync /etc/group /tmp/nowrite || echo

question about icecast & winamp & media player
Hi, It's been pretty quiet as of late. I have a question. I have an icecast server housed at my provider with a very good internet connection. At work I'm using an ADSL line, which should be sufficient to listen to the 128K streams I'm sending out. However, when I listen with WinAmp, after about half an hour the stream stutters and stops. I can restart it and listen again but it
