[PATCH] inspect: try to use /etc/os-release on Linux guests
If a Linux guest has /etc/os-release (mandatory for systemd, so all the
recent Linux distributions have it), try to parse it for the distro, its
version, and its product name. If we cannot get all of them, the
detection as done so far continues.
Other than changes in the product_name string (which is free-form
anyway, and already documented to not be parseable), there should be no
regressions in

[PATCH] inspect: use os-release for CoreOS
Look for /lib/os-release in the /usr partition and try to use it, if
present, before using lsb-release later on. This should not change the
final result of the inspection, while using the os-release detection
method also for CoreOS.
---
Nikos, since you added the support for CoreOS in libguestfs, can you
please check whether this change works for you as well?
Thanks in advance.

Modify string-regular expression
Hi there everybody,
I would like to be able to modify a string like 'Param_i = Val_i-1' in 'Param_i = Val_i-2' in a text file
Indeed I have two arrays :
-One for the name of my parameters
-One for the new values for each parameter
I would like to write a loop like this one :
...
SCAN <- scan("File.txt",sep="\n", what="raw",blank.lines.skip=F)

Re: [PATCH] inspect: use os-release for CoreOS
Hello,
It looks good to me and it makes the code more robust. Removing
/usr/lib/os-release in future releases of CoreOS is less probable than
removing /usr/share/coreos/lsb-release.
After such a change I would also update
`test-data/phony-guests/make-coreos-img.sh' to also inject an os-release
file in the dummy image it creates. Find attached the
`/usr/lib/os-release' and

[PATCH 1/3] inspect: recognize the Void Linux distribution
Since Void Linux provides only an /etc/os-release with no VERSION_ID
field, then special-case it to avoid that the os-release parsing ignore
it.
This provides basic distro identification, and icon.

Understanding API Documentation for PHP
Hey everyone,
I am brand new to Xapian so forgive me if I am just being noob.
I looked over the sparse documentation for the Xapian library and its PHP
hooks and I am really confused how to complete my index.
I understand how to add documents etc etc etc and how to build queries but
how I do specify in add_value what field type xapian should take (i.e.
tokenized, unindexed, indexed)?
Is there

[PATCH v10 00/10] Reimplement inspection in the daemon.
v9 was here:

[PATCH v12 00/11] Reimplement inspection in the daemon.
This fixes almost everything. Note that it adds an extra commit which
fixes the whole utf8/iconv business.
It's probably better to list what isn't fixed:
(1) I didn't leave the osinfo code around because I'm still haven't
looked too closely at virt-builder-repository. Can't we just fetch
this code from the git history when we need it?
(2) I didn't change the way

[PATCH v11 00/10] Reimplement inspection in the daemon.
v10: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-July/msg00245.html
No actual change here, but I rebased and retested. Also this series
now does not depend on any other patch series since everything else
needed is upstream.

[PATCH 2/2] inspect: switch to version struct for os major/minor version
Use the version struct in inspect_fs to hold the version of a
filesystem, adapting the inspection code to that.
Also, move the parts of the version parsing to helper functions of the
version struct, so common bits like parsing "X.Y" or "X" version strings
is done only once.

Inspection is now complete[*], although not very well tested. I'm
intending to compare the output of many guests using old & new

[PATCH 0/2] src: introduce an helper version struct
Hi,
this adds an helper version struct, and uses it in the backends (for the
libvirt and qemu versions) and inspection code. This also moves common
code to that, so it is not repeated in many places.
This should help with the small refactoring proposed with
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2016-May/msg00070.html
Thanks,

identical in all cases except one which is caused by a bug in blkid
