anova grouping of factors in lme4 / lmer
...Pr(>F)
Weight 1 9.5 9.5 4242.0 12.7213 0.0003655 ***
Experimenter 6 8.5 1.4 4242.0 1.9067 0.0759496 .
Does anyone know how to make anova() group properly with lmer objects?
Many thanks,
William

test for existance of a method for given class
...re but a hint would
save me considerable time. I would also prefer not to resort to the hack
solution of try()ing the function with the object and then catching the
error to determine whether it was defined.
Thanks,
Will

refitting lm() with same x, different y
...QR will only help if QR is a rate limiting
step in lm(), so if anybody can tell me it's not, then that would be very
helpful too. I would also like to do this for glm() and lmer() fits.
Ideally.
Many thanks,
William

notice the pdMat scheme is absent from lme() in lme4. Is this

apply vs sapply vs loop - lm() call appl(y)ied on array
...the title: "refitting lm() with same x, different y".
(Actually, it doesn't turn up in the R site search yet, at least for me.
But if you just go to the archive of recent messages, available through
CRAN, you can search on refitting and find it. The original post was from
William Valdar, on April 19.)
Hope this helps,
Matt Wiener
