[LLVMdev] CWriter outputs non-portable use of alloca.h
...ing a #include for <alloca.h>. FreeBSD does not have <alloca.h>, so this would cause trouble. We could change it to emit an #ifndef __FreeBSD__...#endif around #include <alloca.h>. I suggest this because, I'm guessing, whether or not the CWriter outputs pretty code is not of utmost importance. Any counter-suggestions? -Brian -- gaeke at uiuc.edu

Is there any way to stop a resilver?
Is there any way to stop a resilver? We gotta stop this thing - at minimum, completion time is 300,000 hours, and maximum is in the millions. Raidz2 array, so it has the redundancy, we just need to get data off. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Facter operatingsystemrelease on Fedora
Currently, facter returns the kernel version as both the kernel and operatingsystemrelease facts. I would like to change that so that on Fedora, operatingsystemrelease is the release number (5,6,7 etc.) or ''Rawhide'' ... are there any objections to making that change ? David

So, just to be sure he finally gets it: I retract my statements that Francis and his friends are "shady" and "desperate for cash". He is in no way a shady guy, having dealt with this situation with the utmost of professionalism and courtesy with me. He is also obviously not threatened by any of my work and feels no pressure to compete with me, infect his work into mine, or any of the other statements he so quickly felt slighted by. And again, sincere apologies all around to anyone who''s felt h...

...-set virt and paravirt locks enabled at the same bloody time. There's 3 distinct cases: - native - virt - paravirt And they do not overlap. Furthermore, if there is any possibility at all of not polluting the native code, grab it with both hands. Native performance is king, try your very utmost bestest to preserve that, paravirt is a distant second and nobody sane should care about the virt case at all. If you want extra lock stealing in the paravirt case, put it in the slowpath code before you start queueing. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed......

For example all of the queue prompts are missing as well as a number of other prompts. Personally I like Allisons sultry tones telling me that shes doing her utmost to connect my call :-) Couple of questions: 1) Does anyone else have english prompts they can share / point me to? 2) Does Mark (the kind guy that made the above) post on this list and is there any possiblity of adding some of the most needed prompts? Failing that I will give him an email and...

Samba-OpenLDAP and AD question..
Hi all We have slowly been migrating our NT4 domain to Samba+OpenLDAP. Today I was told that we were going to to create an AD 'resource' domain, put all of the workstations in it and create a trust relationship between the two domains. In other words the users would be in the Samba+OpenLDAP domain and the workstations in the AD 'resource' domain. If it matters we have about

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Extend llvm to fix global addresses
...n, if any, in alias analysis. LLVM IR already assumes that programmers can't "guess" what the address of the stack, global variables, or heap will be. An integer constant casted to a pointer is assumed to be non-aliasing with "regular" objects in memory. This property is of utmost importance, because a pass like mem2reg relies on it to know that the allocas it wants to promote to registers don't have their addresses secretly taken, for example. To support global variables at fixed addreses, you'd probably need to make an exception to this rule, to allow these variab...
