Ajax to sockets.
Hello,
I am trying to find a way to implement ajax with a given socket server.
Basically I have a support system that is fully integrated, but I can not
stand the "JAVA" chat client because of the security warning and load time.
So I figured I would look towards ajax especially since it has XML
capabilites.
I have the whitepaper on the socket server, this socket server is on the
same

Pdf::Writer and "Replacement Tags"
Having read over the ruby pdf generation (simple reporting) options, I
think Pdf::Writer will do just fine...
..if the following is possible
On page 13 of (the really expansive) ::Writer manual, Replacement Tags
are detailed.
Before I jump into this tomorrow, I''m hoping for some triage sage
advice.
Finally, the question : "Would utilizing Replacement Tags be a suitable

G729
...an ATA-186 or 7460 connecting to another 7460. I
just need to allow the codec in sip.conf.
Now what ramification does that have when I dial out over one of my
analog line (connected to * by a channelbank and a T100P) using my 7460
or ATA-186. The only benefit I am looking for is reduced bandwidth
utlization when I call into my office. If I call through the analog
lines, do I need to purchase g729 codec licenses?
Also, does anyone know if iconnecthere can handle encoded G729 calls?

Performance degradation on multi-processor system
...e server is a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 server, running Linux kernel
2.6.18.-128. It has 2 quad-core Xeon E5420 processors with 6 MB of L2 cache
for each processor. The server has 32 GB of RAM. While the tests were run,
the memory utilization was very low, and there was not much I/O. The CPU
utlization was 100% for each core running an instance of R.
Our theory is that the degradation is due to cache and/or memory bus
contention between the processors. We are going to test this using oprofile
to monitor for L2 cache misses, and possibly memory latency, but before
doing so wanted to run this by...

OT: OGG in the mainstream
There is a big, big difference between cbr and vbr, btw. The machine in
question is a Pentium 3 700 oc'ed to 800, 512MB ram, win nt 5.1 (2k and xp
being nt) etc
In an earlier version the oddcast dsp ate up so much cpu time when set at
say 64kbps (for examples sake) 44.1kHz, stereo that the machine became
totally unusable and the winamp task had to be (slowly) ended with task
manager.
Now,
