iscsi and the last mile...
I have a new Dell PowerEdge 2950 running CentOS 5.0 out-of-box and a Dell
MD3000i. I am new to iscsi and, with google and included documentation,
am having a heck of a time trying to get the RAID volumes I have created
on the 3000i to be seen by the OS as usuable drives. I have printed out
SMcli and iscsiadm documentation.
I have asked on the linux-poweredge at dell.com site, too.
Many leads, but there is something - be it a command, setting, or whatever
else, that is just eluding me.
How do I get the RAID devices seen on my C 5.0 box?
The setup i...

Snom 360 record button?
...the snom 360 fire off the Monitor() application? I
don't see a bounty, and googling for "snom 360 record button asterisk"
returns tons of product specification pages. (Joy!) I don't see a bounty
for it, and the only mention I _see_ on the wiki is "one touch RECORD
button usuable only with special PBX support via SIP INFO method" which
isn't much of an answer.
I assume the answer is no because of this, but I'm hoping against hope
this is just because I don't have anything set up for it:

Well I tried it on linux, and it sounds like it worked. Well llvm was build
without error, but since I prefer to stick to released llvm, I didn't if the
results of the compilation was usuable ;)

final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
Hi everyone
I have one final question regarding my
diploma work. As it seems, the hardware performance
seems not to be the bottleneck when streaming out
ONE stream to x clients.
What happens when I use instead of ONE stream
different streams, because my concept is an on-demand
radio station that basically provides everyone with
access to a huge library of music files and lets him

...nes and 2 analog phones.
In my Zaptel configuration, I've defined 2 groups : one for the 2 FXO's
and one for the 2 FXS. The asterisk server is just used to add a little
IVR and Voicemail service.
Eveything works fine, but sometimes the conversation is interrupted. I
didn't find any usuable log, I just see that a Zap channel hang up in
the CLI.
Have you any ideas ? Here are my conf files :

Can I use SGI''s kdb with a dom0 pv-ops kernel?
I asked this a few weeks ago but didn''t get a response, so at the risk of
being a nag, I''ll abbreviate and restate.
I know there are other Xen specific debuggers, but I want to know if there''s
any reason why SGI''s kdb, http://oss.sgi.com/projects/kdb, should not be
included in a dom0 pv-ops kernel?
While the patches apply cleanly and build, the result is that

Assertion Failure
I got this.. The system was usuable, but not very. If I tried to access the
ext3 volume, it would hang. Reboot hung too, complaining about too many
open files. Any ideas? I have no idea what triggered it; this is a big
file/web/mail server, with all of that on the ext3 volume. And I've never
run ksymoops before, but I think...

The last time I tried it on OS X, the cmake file did not correctly
generate the config.h. (There is a lots of hardcoded value in
config.h.cmake that should be replaced by cmakedefine equivalent).

final question: how many mountpoints can icecast handle ?
...king in icecast 1.x isn't very well done,
and this causes problems in specifically this instance (of large numbers
of mountpoints).
Practical testing of icecast under these conditions revealed that 25-50
mount points is reasonable, but much more starts to get dicey. > 100 is
almost totally usuable.
This won't be as big of an issue in icecast2 since the locking was more
well thought out this time through. I hope to make the mountpoints a
nonissue, as the number of clients currently are.
25-50 should be enough for even hardcore use, and if you need more (as
we did. we were doing 450+...

Samba4 configuration
Hi, I'm interested in exploring the Samba4 project. I managed to compile
(RedHat) without any issue but when it came to execution I realized that
there is configuration need that I don't have a clue about it.
Can any one share with me the black magic of Samba4 configuration, or at
least his smb.conf and the command line used for execution.

XFS filesystem driver's status
Hi,
Since XFS filesystem driver is still under development but we've got it in an
usuable state, I would like you (XFS users or even non-XFS ones) to test this
implementation, please.
It's available on my tree:
git://zytor.com/users/pcacjr/syslinux.git (branch: xfs)
What's currently missing on the implementation AFAIK is handling node
directories, file inodes where their din...

Printing with and without cups on the same machine
Hi all!
We have a samba 3.0.2a-Debian running in combination with cups.
I want to use cups to print to all "normal" printers (e.g. HP
Laserjet), which seems to run.
But I want also use a printer-script to genereate pdf Files using
gs (no, I don't want to use the pdf backend providet on the cups
web site, for several reasons...)
On a machine running samba 2.2.3a-13 without cups,

dmidecode doesn't work under xen 4.1.1 on certain hardware
I have a xen 4.1.1 with a 3.0.4 linux kernel running on a Supermicro
Supermicro X8DTL-iF motherboard with 16GB of RAM.
If I run the 3.0.4 kernel on the bare metal dmidecode works fine. If I
run it under xen dmidecode fails to work. On other systems with
different hardware but identical software dmidecode works correctly
under xen. On this hardware with xen 3.4.1 & linux 2.6.18, dmidecode

Vulnerability in Elm-ME+
Hello,
I have confirmed that the recently-reported vulnerability in Elm is also
present in Elm-ME+ and thus also in Debian GNU/Linux version 1.2, prerelease
version 1.3, and development tree "unstable".
Below is a short diff to correct the problem.
Debian GNU/Linux 1.2.x uses stock Elm 2.4pl25. Users of that version of Elm
should upgrade to Elm-ME+ as detailed below.
