Can't mount Samba share on Linux box, Windows clients OK
...arameter "passdb backend"
Any ideas? Printing from CUPS on my Linux box to the Samba box
doesn't work either. I hope it's something small or stupid because the
Windows clients are running just fine. I appreciate any
ideas/comments/ridicule anyone might offer.

Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE
All,
I've encountered the same problem as others who have posted under the same
subject.
I've had R-1.8.1 installed and running since it was released. Yesterday
morning when I tried to start Rgui.exe I got the subject error message.
Since I live at the whim of the network administrators I can only assume it
was a recent MS critical update.
I tried installing R-1.9.0 but no joy.

Copy files from Unix host to Windows host with Samba 2.0 ?
Can anyone tell me if files can be copied from a Unix (Solaris 2.6) host
running
Samba 2.0 to a Windows Server ?
It appears that the 'smbclient' command might support this capability, but I
can't seem to get it to work. I can use the smbclient -L to view shares and
the -M to sent Windows hosts messages, so all appears to be configured
correctly.

SDXC and the future of ZFS
Wouldn''t it be great if the opensolaris community creates a fs fzfs (for flash zfs) that
could be the the filesystem for SDXC cards? Two main point for this are already there
Sun is a member of SD Card Association and the code writting smart on a flash should be there as well with stuff of l2arc.
I think that could give the opensolaris a more visiblie/ markting in the IT space and

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing
works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why
can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared
directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google
and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.

to my ISP and then ran the startup script and things are working perfectly.
I don't have a domain name, and I'm not running a DNS server. Is there any
way I can make it so that my shares are always accessible?

database tables
I have been assigned a task of building a front end to a database that has already been created. All the database tables have the naming convention of lclclcClclclc. For example; tblComputerNames. How do i get around this in rails since it likes lower case table names to keep with its naming conventions for classes and objects?

curious
I have rails on my linux laptop connecting just fine to SQL Server 2000. Why can''t I do the same with Ruby from a script or command line. More precisely, I cannot insert into a database table at all from a script or command line. (If I had to guess, I would say Rails is smarter than I when it automagically creates the sql statements.) Can anyone point me in the right direction on how

Sure but its rather large and the funny thing is that it runs when it is
trussed ( not correctly mind you) but not without it.
the truss switches I use are aefo and as I said its large. The IP's and
Hostnames are in
