Does the domain administrator SID always end with -1000? I.e., if the SID for the domain is: S-1-2-33-4444444444-555555555-6666666666 does this mean that the domain administrator's SID would be: S-1-2-33-4444444444-555555555-6666666666-1000 ? hello, I want to use a samba server and an ldap server in two different lans. but win xp pc can not join to pdc domain. i ping the ldap server and smbldap-usershow shows the users but the "net rpc getsid" can not fetch sid and coputers can't be added to ldap. any idea?

I cannot join my WinXP workstation computers to the Samba domain. Using the Computer Name / Change on the XP computer gives me an error saying that the username or password is incorrect - except very occasionally when it works although I do nothing different!
