...uccess. My application needs to track user preferences, which includes some associations with my models. Should I be extending the UserEngine model(s) and adding my own attributes? This means adding a lot to a plugin, including extending controllers and views. Or should I be creating my own UserPreferences model (along with a controller and view for it) that has_one :user? I''m then free to associate with my own models (including an HABTM association) without worrying about the plugin code. This seems more "proper." But any suggestions on when to create the new UserPreferences...

I installed the game using the download link from the wine appDB, install went smoothly, compiled the GUI launcher, tried to run game, launcher works but error comes up before game loads "The game client was passed invalid command-line parameters". AppDB says to edit UserPreferences.ini settings, but no file is created so i think this error is happening before that stage. Has anyone had this problem? Google searching showed a similar issue on the game forum which was fixed in windows by renaming the "userpreferences.ini" file found in "my documents" -> "the lord of the rings online" folder and restarting the game so a new .ini was created.
