Strange permission problem with Maildir
I have this very strange problem with Dovecot spitting out a file permissions error but further testing seems to show it being an inaccurate message. Hai,   Im setting up a new proxy and im testing a bit around. Goal is, get everyting working with minimal changes to the system.   Setup: Debian 8 with NFS nfsv3 and v4 (krb) automounts,  winbind 4.5.3 , squid 3.5.24 (with ssl support) Which is basicly a copy of my other proxy but a new install with more systemd and less packages used.   Working: -          ssh logins with AD users.

Trying to get Centos5 set up with dovecot
Greetings, It seems I'm having some trouble getting this message into the list. I have used this dovecot list before. I am trying to set up dovecot to replace an older POP3 server in an existing set up. Currently the server uses sendmail to handle incoming mail. users are in /etc/mail and their incoming eMail lands in the /var/mail/username in /var/mail the username file is owned by

ADS authentication stopped working
Running Samba mostly on Redhat 5 with version 3.5.4-0.83 Also failed on Debian 3.5.6 and Solaris with a 3.5 version. Logging details here are from Redhat case. We have a similar problem on all Unix/Linux systems using ADS as the backend authentication for samba shares on Unix/Linux. It was working before today and we didn't change anything. Today, any time we try smbclient or a Windows drive

ZFS Index corruption and Connection reset by peer
Hello, I'm currently using dovecot 1.2.11 on FreeBSD 8.0 with ZFS filesystems. So far, so good, it works quite nicely, but I have a couple glitches. Each user has his own zfs partition, mounted on /home/<user> (easier to set per user quotas) and mail is stored in their home. From day one, when people check their mail via imap, a lot of indexes corruption occured : dovecot:

Particular user post-login hang
Greets, I'm using dovecot 2.0.9 (also tried rolling back to 2.0.8 which does the same - the output below is from 2.0.8), and this problem is imap specific. The following is a recurring problem with a specific user - as far as we can tell, other users are working just fine (there are thousands); but I bet there are others. In a nutshell: User authenticates OK, then the imap process hangs.

Username case mangling -- Linux username is mixed-case, Samba returns lower-case
I have a problem that I first observed when I upgraded from 3.0.24 to 3.0.28 and is, I believe, related to the introduction of the "printjob username" configuration parameter. I print via CUPS and the Cups-PDF driver wants to know the Linux username (so it can put the PDF in the proper location). The problem is that "printjob username = %U" results in a lowercase username

Reuse steps like a method call
If I have a step matcher defined as so: Given "a user named $username" do |username| .... end Is there a way to call it from another step? For example: Given "a user named $username with a blog post |username| given_a_user_named(username) # calls existing step code # create a blog post end Cheers, -- Bryan Helmkamp http://brynary.com -- My blog

FETCH for mailbox INBOX UID 5003 got too little data: 5369 vs 38919
This happened a while back, I was running 1.1rc3 up until today so I have no idea if it would have an effect. Sorry if its something that has been fixed. The error below was repeated many many times, I deleted the index so the user would stop getting disconnected (although I didn't hear any complaints). I have not seen this happen repeatedly in this manner to any other user yet. Apr 15

NT/UNIX username mapping possible directly via tdbsam?
Hello everyone, I've been wondering if NT and UNIX username mapping can be done directly via the SAM database instead of the 'username map = <filename>' option in smb.conf. The problem with 'username map' files is that the mappings seem to work only in one direction, namely from NT towards UNIX usernames. However, I'd like to achieve a true, bi-directional

getpwnam() fails for LDAP Users on AIX 5.3
Hello List, below our smb.conf and loglevel 5 output of a failed authentication. We want to get the Unix User details from MS-SFU using the new idmap_ad Backend. If the Windows User is mapped to local name it's all fine. But if we want to use our SFU Users it fails. We believe getpwnam() on AIX is faulty. "id username" and login works for all users local and AD! Any ideas how to
