Removable media security in FreeBSD
I'm working with a FreeBSD user -- a teacher -- who's running KDE on a system
on which she neither has nor wants root privileges. She wants to be able to
mount and unmount floppies and ZIP cartridges from within KDE, using the
standard KwikDisk utility (which, by the way, generates mount and unmount
command that don't conform to FreeBSD syntax; however, it appears possible
to fix this

NFSv4 + Kerberos permission denied
...0.23
for nfs/nfsserver at my.domain
tcpdump:

14:59:36.142301 IP 192.168.0.21.kerberos-sec > nfsclient.61011:
I got "Permission denied" message when I try to mkdir or rm. As a root
mount and as a user mount (sysctl vfs.usermounts=1).
With -sec=sys it works read-write, but with -sec=krb5 read-only..
my /etc/exports:
V4: /export_test -sec=krb5:krb5i:krb5p -network 192.168.0.0 -mask 255.255.255.0
/export_test -sec=krb5:krb5i:krb5p -network 192.168.0.0 -mask
255.255.255.0 -maproot=root -alldirs
tried with V4: / .... as well....

Automount of USB drives
Hi,
I am using 5.1, Until yesterday morning when we had a power cut
for 9 hours [no proper UPS], the automount of USB drives worked
properly.
Now when I connect any USB drive [hard drives & USB sticks], they
show up in dmesg, and they are being properly recognized, but I
have to mount them by hand.
Any suggestion?

More mount_smbfs
Thanks to Will Saxon I'm finally able to mount Samba shares on my 5.1-R
box using the command
mount_smbfs -I 129.197.36.34 -W acct01 //bfosdick@129.197.36.34/net-11
/sp/net-11
which then prompts me for my password. So now the question is...how do I
put this in /etc/fstab? What do I do about the password?

Problem with xen on Centos-4.4?
I am running a Xen installation on a Centos-4.4 based test box, my desktop
unit, and I am having intermittent problems installing certain pieces of
software. Some time back I posted to this list regarding my inability to
install Adobe Acrobat on this unit and was advised to essentially
repackage the software and try again. This is beyond my present means of
knowledge or time to acquire same and

powerd not behaving with an Asus A8V-MX and Athlon 64 X2 3800+
I have an Asus A8V-MX motherboard with an AMD Athlong 64 X2 3800+ CPU
and I'm trying to run powerd to keep it cooler/quieter/greener.
I'm running -STABLE (6.1-RC) cvsup'ed a couple of days ago, with a
kernel config that consists of the SMP sample plus an atapicam
device.
I'm loading the cpufreq.ko module in /boot/loader.conf.
I've attached my dmesg output and sysctl -a
