samba4 and sssd and user mapping
Hi everyone,
on a server running samba4 with sssd for nsswitch mapping, I realized
recently that on windows workstation in the "folder propery/security
tab", users are mapped as "Unix user\userlogin" instead of
"DOMAINNAME\userlogin".
I guess this is due to the fact that sssd mapping with getent passwd
gives me user name without domain name (eg. userlogin), and in the
samba4 smb.conf I don't know how to specify to use default domain, so it
probably maps users to DOMAINN...

Problems with Userlogin to share
Hello,
we have a Samba AD (AD Server: 4.9.5 / Fileserver: 4.10.11).
On the Fileserver sometimes the Users are lost. wbinfo -u does not show
any AD user. After restart winbind it works like expected.
An other strange think is, that the kerberos ticket is not updated.
Smb.conf fileserver:
security = ADS
workgroup = FOO
realm = FOO.EXAMPLE.COM
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log

The first one is the more critical for me...
1. When I switch from sssd to winbind with :

My sftp access did not work. Does it change the way to pass the login ?
I used to connect in sftp with userlogin / userpassword

Samba AD Debug Login Script / Sometimes Network drive not connected
Hello,
I have migrate my samba NT4 Domain to AD. There are 2 DC for failover.
Sysvol is synced with rsync.
Sometimes the network drive is not connected on userlogin. A manual
start of login script or relogin do solve that problem.
Did someone know whats wrong there?
How can I debug the login process?
There is no command window like on windows nt4 domain login process.
Clients are Windows 7.
Best Regards,
Basti

Imap - Loging
Hello List,
i'm looking for a way to increase log-level for imap-processes. Pop3 Server
writes all necessary infos about mails-transfered/deleted etc. Imap-Log
writes just times and ip's of Userlogins.
Is there a way to increase the imap-output? The Conf-Parameters i found did
not really fit my requirements. Best result would be a collected log of
transfering/deleting mails for one imap-session.
Ist there a way to achieve this?
Thank you
Andre

Samba Security
Dear Sir,
I just installed my PC with SCO 5.5 with samba which is dowloaded from website in BIN-PACKAGE. I hope that users can save their document inside their home directory at SCO PC. I can see my SCO PC in network neighborhood using windows explorer, but i found the screen like showing as follow:
Enter Network Password
You must supply a password to make this connection

PXElinux and Windows RIS
I was trying to use my windows RIS server to deploy linux so as to require
user authentication. After seaching the internet I found that it was
possible but not very well explained after alot of tinkering I eventually
got it to work.
Here is my documentation so hopefully others can do it in less time than
I, feel free to comment and improve..

I use this setting on my email client:

New antispam measures on the wiki
It is by now clear that a handful of persistent spammers have started
using semiautomated attacks targeted specifically at our wiki ... one
careless spammer even uploaded some of his scripts!
As a result, I have switched the wiki to a mode where editors need to be
explicitly authorized, manually, before they can edit. As a result,
people will need to first create an account, and then get a

Samba winbind on centos 7 - "domain users" acls added
hello,
My 2nd issue is about acls which are added by "Domain users".
May you help me to solve it again ?
Concerning this issue, on my samba share, I set permissions for the
share "groups" located on /var/datashared for "domain admins" (rwx) and
"domain users" (r-x)
/var]# getfacl datashared/
# file: datashared/
# owner: root
