Im not sure what your question is but if I run these commands on the
windows computer it this:
C:\Windows\System32>echo %USERDOMAIN%
ACME.DOM
C:\Windows\System32>echo %USERDNSDOMAIN%
ACME.COM
When going to File Explorer -> This PC -> Properties
the value to "Domain:" is "acme.com"
Some part of this network installation dates back to 1995 so maybe somebody
thaught it was a good idea.

...k: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:DOM1\%username%
net use l: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:DOM2\%username%
At least that is what i do here.
You can do more, open CMD box, run type: set
You an use all these variables.
net use m: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:%USERDOMAIN%\%username%
Or
net use n: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:%username%@%USERDNSDOMAIN%
And i've disabled password changes for the time until im able to remove that old domain.
You can set it with the persistance but i had more problem with that then above.
If a password changes occurs, then the drive with persistant connections is failing.
And why VB script, you can set it...

Error with 1.9.0 - Invalid HOMEDRIVE
I installed R project 1.9.0 on Windows XP. The installation went well.
Then, I rebooted. Next, I clicked the icon under Programs in the Start
menu and received this error, "Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE". I
clicked OK to the error message. The program does not start. I went to
a DOS prompt and did "echo %HOMEDRIVE%" and it returned "C:". This

Use Samba with ACL for read Active Directory and set Permissions via it.
...run "net rpc testjoin" :
Unable to find a suitable server for domain JASONDOMAINI

I guess I understand what is my problem. I'm really sorry :(.
On Windows OS i used "set" command and it show me :
USERDNSDOMAIN= JASONDOMAIN.JJ
USERDOMAIN= JASONDOMAINI
I guess that I must change "JASONDOMAINI" in below texts to "JASONDOMAIN" :
idmap config JASONDOMAINI : range = 10000-999999
idmap config JASONDOMAINI : schema_mode = rfc2307
Am I right?
