Samba eating processes
This is a three part question.
1. =====================
With the upgrade to 18p4, samba is regularly causing our server to run
out of processes.
What is causing this? It never happened w/ 17p2.
OS: IRIX 6.2
log.smb has the following:
ERROR: Recursion in sig_cld? Perhaps you need `#define USE_WAITPID'?

USE_WAITPID in IRIX (SGI5). Does it work?
...n them and the problem goes away, and we restart Samba and all is well
again.
It does _not_ seem to be activity related (the latest incident happened
at around 23:30 localtime.
The only clue is in the log.smb file which has a line reading:-
ERROR: Recursion in sig_cld? Perhaps you need `#define USE_WAITPID'?
And this puzzles me no end.
I've looked in the Makefile, and have double chcked that I've
uncommented the three lines for SGI5 (and only those lines).
Moreover the file 'includes.h' appears to define USE_WAITPID in the
section for 'SGI5'.

HPUX compilations and Samba 1.9.18p2
...and I've never had this problem with defunct processes
before.
I got this in log.smb (Samba 1.9.18p1)

AM defunct processes kept coming and around 12.30 the process table was

Samba 1.9.18p5 released.
The Samba Team are pleased to announce Samba 1.9.18p5.
It may be fetched via ftp from :

This is a bugfix release, designed to address issues
that users have reported with the 1.9.18p4 release.
