5.4-->5.5 Upgrade broke OO 3.2.0
In order to get an OpenOffice configuration that is closer in
compatibility with MS Office 2007, I removed the standard OO in 5.4 via
yum and installed the latest (3.2.0) from OpenOffice.org. Ran that
config for many months without a problem.
However, when I allowed the upgrade to 5.5, OO broke. I finally had to
remove all traces of OO 3.2.0, and start over. That worked...until yum
tells me that

YES?the result is affected by the request size, we can reach 10-40%.
The smaller the request size, the lower the result.

OpenOffice 3.3.0 crashing on CentOS 5.5
The last few releases of OpenOffice have gotten very
unstable on my desktop which is a CentOS 5.5 i386 system.
After multiple crashes when doing embedded simple drawings
in OpenOffice writer (circles and lines with connections), I
started using the versions from Sun then Oracle. I am
now using version 3.3: openooffice.org3-3.3.0-9567. I've
lived with this but with version 3.x it has gotten

Yum dependency failure installing latest LibreOffice
...ersion I had previously been using, and I get
the equivalent error when trying that too. Back when I installed it, I
got no such errors.
Note that I am now on the 7.5 version, 7.5 (1804), and when I previously
installed 6.0 I was still on the previous release, so I wonder if yum has
become broken during the 7.5 run-up.
A lot of time had transpired here and I was getting a little warm under
the collar, so I tried:
rpm -ivh *.rpm
which worked just fine. voila! I did this with the older version, but I
wanted the newer one, so I did "yum remove libreoffice\* libobasis\*"
and it complained...

Model frame manipulation
Dear all,
I am implementing a redundant variables F-test. For that I need to
compute 2 models, restricted and unrestricted, then extracting the
residuals to calculate the test statistic.
I borrowed this elegant solution from the LMtest package to rebuild the
first of the matrices involved (the unrestricted one) on the basis of
model spec. and data

configuring graphics device in Linux
greetings,
i'm trying plot() from Owen's _The R Guide_ and having trouble with
being able to view the result. the Graphics Device 2 draws an image i
can only see the top part of and when i try to manipulate the window to
see the image, the window then says: "...ure margins too lar..." in
large letters. i guess it says something about picture margins too
large. i'm not sure

Extract values from a predict() result... how?
Hello,
silly question I suppose, but somehow I can't manage to extract the
probabilities from a glm.predict() result:

I got from:
