zpool import fails to find pool
Hi all, I moved from Sol 10 Update4 to update 6. Before doing this I exported both of my zpools, and replace the discs containing the ufs root on with two new discs (these discs did not have any zpool /zfs info and are raid mirrored in hardware) Once I had installed update6 I did a zpool import, but it only shows (and was able to)...

Red Hat release info
Hi all, I''m looking at changing the operatingsystemrelease fact for Red Hat. Linux currently just uses the kernel release as the operating system release, but I''ve got a client who wants the release to have both the specific distro (e.g., AS or EL) and the release (e.g., 3 or 4). Will this particularly annoy anyone? Anyone want to help make the release string work on

Does svn-to-cvs still work? & How to use freebsd-update?
...ust me (and knowing how to use it for userland binaries/kernel update is not bad anyway). When I tried it, however, all I saw was this: # freebsd-update fetch Looking up update.FreeBSD.org mirrors... 3 mirrors found. Fetching public key from update5.FreeBSD.org... failed. Fetching public key from update4.FreeBSD.org... failed. Fetching public key from update3.FreeBSD.org... failed. No mirrors remaining, giving up. So no joy here - no files fetched. I was using /etc/freebsd-update.conf untouched, as installed on system, or copied from /usr/src/etc directory if it did not exist on my system. Is the...

Clarification on 1.0.14-1
I'm pleased to see that the new release has full support for asynchronous I/O. I was surprised, though, since I thought that the aio bug in the 2.4 kernels couldn't be fixed without breaking binary compatibility. Was there a special fix for this in the RHEL3 update 4 kernel? Anyway, thanks for all your efforts. We're looking forward to testing aio with the new version next week.

Need SAN suggestion
Hello, It is not total off-topic since almost all connected servers will be RHEL and CentOS. :) We are considering to purchase new storage system. The most probably we will be choosing between HP (EVA6000), EMC (CX3-20C) and Hitachi (similar model). iSCSI connection is also required. What are your experienced with listed systems? What to avoid? What ot expect? Now I just know

Re: TAR 4182518.999: OCFS problems encoutered during support Intel project
...found it hangs when it begin to create redo log files. Also need to ask OCFS team for help. I tried two version of OCFS for IA64. They are 1.0.13-11 and 1.0.11-1. Of course, we could exclude the possible reason of mismatch between linux kerenl and that needed by OCFS driver. (We first used RHEL3 Update4, kernel version is 2.4.21-20 while OCFS driver want 2.4.21-4. Then I reinstalled OS with Update 1, kernel version is 2.4.21-20, we found OCFS driver need 2.4.21- 4.102 something like that). I think maybe that is too strict for OCFS driver to use. Please give your suggestion. Best regards, Zhih...

freebsd-update and surces of 9.1-RC3
Hi! I'm trying to use freebsd-update for first time. I have 9.0-RELEASE installed without sources and I have read Handbook chapter and manual page for freebsd-update. "freebsd-update -r 9.1-RC3 upgrade" downloaded updates, its "install" command installed kernel and after reboot second "install" invocation installed binaries but not source tree that is needed to
