Heads up: Bugged update xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-5.el5_6.1 upcoming
Hi,
Reading
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=30939&forum=37 I noticed a warning about an upcoming bugged update xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-5.el5_6.1
I would advise everyone to add
exclude=xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-5.el5_6.1
to their updates repo config.
Regards,
Leonard.

Interested in testing the upcoming 0.9.x branch? Help us with some testing!
Hi everyone,
If people have the time, can they test the master branch of compiz
(upcoming 0.9.x) and fill out this form (hopefully included in the email!)
to let me know of any bugs? Thanks a billion!
You don't have to fill out all the questions in this questionnaire - I
would understand if you are limited by time. You also don't need to tell me
anything you don't wan...

vorbis-tools patch to support upcoming FLAC 1.1.3
hello all,
(cc'ing some other package maintainers)
I attached a patch against vorbis-tools-1.1.1 to make the code
also compile against the upcoming FLAC 1.1.3, beta available here:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.1.3-beta2.tar.gz?download
changelog:
http://flac.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/flac/flac/doc/html/changelog.html
with FLAC 1.1.3 there is no need for EasyFLAC. the patch does not
cause easyflac.c to *not* be compiled...

Upcoming removal of std::auto_ptr (in C++1z)
The upcoming C++1z (probably C++17) standard will not contain several
things - most notably auto_ptr.
Soon, libc++ will not be providing auto_ptr by default when building in
C++1z mode.
You'll be able to get it back with a
"-D_LIBCPP_ENABLE_CXX17_REMOVED_AUTO_PTR" on your command line, or "#...

Upcoming Tripwire Port Upgrade
I have an updated tripwire port which I'd like to release for testing prior
to replacing the existing and currently broken tripwire port. I've tested
it under the upcoming 6.1, which it seems to work well in my test
environment and will commence testing under 4.11-STABLE, the upcoming 5.5,
and 7.0-CURRENT.
The things that are on my todo list are:
- Fully test under 4.11-STABLE.
- Fully test under 5.5-*.
- Implement it into production in my 6.1-* environments (j...

packages built against upcoming releases
I admire package-builders being proactive and having their facilities
ready for upcoming R releases. However, if the publicly released
version of R is 2.10.1 and a package is built for R 2.11.0, users get
the embarrassing notice about a disconnect, and cannot do much about it.
If it is tedious to roll out a new package on time, perhaps there's a
possibility for automation here....

Upcoming LCA presentation
As some of you may know, I'm going to be presenting CELT at the upcoming
linux.conf.au conference in January. See
http://linux.conf.au/programme/schedule/view_talk/187?day=thursday for
details about the talk. I would like to include some references to real
world applications, demos, etc., where your are already using (or
planning to use) CELT. If you want me to mention...

Upcoming OwnCloud changes
Just a FYI folks ...
I am running OwnCloud 9.0.2 on CentOS 6.7 and php-7.0 with no issues.
I installed the Webtatic repo which has several versions of PHP
available for CentOS 6 and 7. I then used the official OwnCloud
ce:stable repo to add the cloud software.
In a leap of faith, and because this CentOS VM doesn't run anything
other than OwnCloud, I used the 'php70w' PHP repo

FDiv already exists; div was split quite a while ago.

match your music taste with upcoming concerts -- highnote
Hi Everyone,
Just a friendly announcement for yet-another Rails project gone live,
highnote. The concept is simple - you upload your iTunes XML Library
and highnote will automatically keep an eye on upcoming concerts and
notify you about them. Sort of a "set it and forget it" for shows.
No more browsing around the troubadour website and various places ...
highnote knows what you like and tells you when they are coming to
town.
Please give it a spin and feel free to reply to me with any feed...
