Windows package upates
Dear list
Having just started to use the Windows version, I am very impressed with
it's package handling as well as the gui.
So I tried to see what was due for update and packages such as Hmisc,
Matrix and others came up.
But when I had updated them - which took a few goes as something hung
between here and Bristol - I noticed that the default packages such as
nmle, MASS had disappeared. I

link_to_remote renders Ajax.Updater, sometimes Ajax.Request
I''m new to Rails, but am really enjoying working with it.
But i just hit a brick wall...
I have two link_to_remote tags in two seperate _whatever.rhtml files.
The targets of the updates are in edit.rhtml which does a render
:partial to include the links. here''s some code:
<%= link_to_remote ''Destroy'',

Update_attributes working, or not? I can''t tell.
...do this:
user.update_attribute(:last_activity_time, Time.now())
It appears to be successful given the breadcrumbs I''ve strewn around it,
but nothing gets written out to my table. In development.log I see
this:
Updating record
{:last_activity_time=>Mon Jun 26 11:19:00 EDT 2006}
Upated record
(Where Updating/Upated.. are my breadcrumbs).
I''m wondering, are the underscores screwing it up? It''s not throwing
any errors, so where exactly does it think that it''s writing out the
data?

Centos locking up system with mptscsih driver error
I have a Tyan Tiger S2466 MPX motherboard with Dual Atlon MP 2800+ CPUs
and 1GB PC2100 DDR SDRAM. For disk drive I have an LSI53C1030 and 4
Seagate ST336607LWs in a software raid 5 configuration. I installed
Centos 4.1 and everything was fine running kernel-smp-2.6.9-11.EL.
However when I upated to Centos 4.2 I have run into problems. Namely
after a finite amount of disk traffic the system locks completely up. On
the monitor console I get message after message from the MPT Fusion SCSI
driver mptscsih indicating that there was a failure and that an "ABORT
was successful". Unfo...

Machine-readble cloud-image list
Hi there, I would like to write a script to download the CentOS
generic cloud images with the intention of making them eventually
available to oVirt users via the oVirt public Glance repository.
For that purpose I need to:
1. list the CentOS generic cloud images
2. list mirrors from where I could potentially download those images
I could try to parse the HTML here [1], but I'd rather just

Dial in accounts
Eric,
I am busy trying to grasp the browse list concept. We have subnets and
dial-in accounts. From what I have read you may have to get your Linux
box act as aWINS server and have to dial-up user use the wins server to
resolve names on the brows list. The browse list is updated every 12-15
minutes ao your dial-up account might not show upat first. This has
caused me some trouble at first as I

Xen boots to blank screen
It seems like there are several messages in the archive and in various
forums about this problem, but I do not see a clear course of action for how
to solve it. I am relatively new to Linux, compounding my problem. I just
built a new machine for the express purpose of running Xen so my girlfriend
and I could experiment and learn about different Linux distros. I am running
on an Intel DG35EC

[LLVMdev] OCaml bindings patch
...hese bindings are defined at ./binding/OCaml/target
with other changes at
./lib/Target/Target.cpp
./include/llvm-c/Target.h
3) merged some bindings from 2.7...
The patch was generated by
diff -crBN ./llvm-2.6 ./llvm-2.6patch > llvm-2.6-ocamlbindings.patch
where llvm-2.6patch is the upated src wrt the original code ./llvm-2.6/
To apply the patch, go to a dir that contains ./llvm-2.6, and then do
patch -p0 -i llvm-2.6-ocamlbindings.patch
The LLVM IR pretty printer in OCaml using those bindings just works
now. But we are not sure if the bindings are safe, following code
style of LL...

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] is configure+make dead yet?
Using cmake should be the right thing if you'd like to support windows, but
it seems that no enough effort on this build system, eg
http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=12157 three months passed, I'am I bit
familiar with cmake, so if there tasks pending for absence of developer,
I'd like to join.
cmake is not perfect but it's open, but many improvements maybe merged
upstream.

dns terminated with signal 11
Hi,
I did a big mistake. Since 2 weeks my upgrade samba-ad works perfect.
Today I tried (I know it was dump) to add "www" as CNAME Alias Name (FQDN: www.example.com) to my DNS..The reason I did this was to fix my dns-problem (Domain name and public website have the same name ("example.com")).
I deleted this entry after 5min.
But after all of this my dns gets terminated

error in sernet samba
Reindl/Harald,
What is your first name? Sorry for asking, but always wondered about it.
I just wanted to note here that...
1) I have seen this also if samba is upgraded and not restarted.
Or
2) if a packages is not upgrade because an extra package is also needed at install.
And that should be tested/checked/tried out first and if that all fails,
then its needed to contact sernet support.

1024 char limit for auth.allow and automatically re-reading auth.allow without having to restart glusterd?
Hi,
Anyone know if the 1024 char limit for auth.allow still exists in the
latest production version (seems to be there in 3.2.5). Also anyone
know if the new versions check if auth.allow has been updated without
having to restart glusterd? Is there anyway to restart glusterd
without killing it and restarting the process, is kill -1 (HUP)
possible with it (also with the version i'm running?)
