on an old, very specific version of java. No, the supplier was not
interested in providing updates, what they provided - worked. The
network was essentially private, thus difficult for the great unwashed
to gain access and then in some way compromise the system. BTW, the
particular version of java was only supported on WindozeXP and an old
version of IE - thus it ran in a virtualbox and was only made alive when
access to the radio system was required. welcome to the real world of

Mapping = 1 Ambisonic Vorbis flag
...= 0 which is 1 speaker/ 1 channel
Has this been written explicitly into the standard?
Which standard should I be looking at?
http://xiph.org/vorbis/doc/Vorbis_I_spec.html#id342556
specifies only Mapping = 0
The reason why I'm searching for the actual physical definition of the flag is the unwashed Ambisonic Community would like this to be just a bit (bit 1) rather than a single value (Mapping = 1)
That's cos we might want more bits from yus guys later if / when we have more than 16 channels ( more than 3rd order Ambi)

Not to sound rude, but sounds like a 'you' problem and not an 'Icecast
mailing list' problem.

Overhead Paging Systems...
Hey all,
I know you all saw the topic and let out a groan. However, I understand
how to get an overhead paging system to work with respect *, however I am
now looking for a small(?) paging amp, that I could hook 3 or 4 horns to.
I would like to just have the * extention be routed to a soundcard and out
an output, so I would like an amp that is voice signal activated.
Has anyone found anything

Announcing Digium/Asterisk World's Conference Program
Is this replacing Astricon this year?
If so it looks like a pretty poor showing in comparison to Astricon
Dallas last year.
Cheers,
Dean

Still the big Icecast problem!
...more choices out there and streaming over IP is no
longer quite as new and cool. Being cooler, being technically better,
is not enough. Being free and open-source in itself doesn't cut it in
the mass market. MP3, these days, is "free enough" and easily
available for use by the unwashed masses.
So... what would make me as a professional broadcaster seriously
consider Ogg? Two things:
ONE:
We use an embedded player at Pulverradio.com that's done in Flash. For
our part we just modified an off-the-shelf player for our station and
the result is we receive very little email...

supports MP3 because so many people listen to mp3 radio
stations and files. And before

Free WWT (WorldWideTelco): Utopia, or just a matter of organization?
I had this idea, and after looking for something like this already in
progress, I found another guy who tried to start it... But I was
unable to contact him, and his project seems to be dead. But, I
believe it is possible, and I wanted to know the opinion of the
experienced... So, let's go:

I need arguments pro-S-PLUS and against SAS for a meeting I will
have next week. S-Plus is (90 - 99)% compatible with R, so using
S-Plus will make things much easier for everyone. But I can't use
this argument. What other arguments could I use?

[PATCH RESEND] mm: don't zero ballooned pages
This patch is a revert of 'commit bb01b64cfab7 ("mm/balloon_compaction.c:
enqueue zero page to balloon device")'
Ballooned pages will be marked as MADV_DONTNEED by the hypervisor and
shouldn't be given to the host ksmd to scan. Therefore, it is not
necessary to zero ballooned pages, which is very time consuming when
the page amount is large. The ongoing fast balloon tests

Linksys PAP2-NA
I receieved my first PAP2-NA yesterday from our distributor(Tech Data). It
installed pretty easily and has worked great so I went to order some more
of these units today.
When I logged into Tech Data this morning, the PAP2-NA was now marked as
discontinued and no longer available and only the PAP2 version was
available which is the Vonage branded version. :(
I saw someone on the list say that
