Samba4, DHCP, & BIND DLZ
Hello,
I have recently compiled, installed and configured samba4 to run on a FreeBSD server.
samba -V reports the version to be Version 4.1.0pre1-GIT-57990cb.
The server has working BIND 9.9 and ISC-DHCP services running on it.
I have provisioned samba 4 to use the BIND_DLZ DNS backend.
On the whole things seem to be working. local names are being resolved. phpLDAPAdmin shows the new

FXS - Init Indirect Registers UNSUCCESSFULLY.
I'm having problems with a TDM22B. The FXO modules work fine. Both FXS
modules fail to initialized.
The error messages I see when the module loads:
Init Indirect Registers UNSUCCESSFULLY.
Indirect Registers failed verification.
I already RMA'ed a TDM22B because of this problem. Now that the
replacement shows a similar issue, I want to see if anyone else can
think of something to try; at least until Monday when I can get an RMA
number for this card.
If it helps, I have a T...

DC replacement and DNS issue
Hi all,
I posted on both mailing as this seems to be (to me) an internal issue.
As the 4.3.1 went out I decided to switch my DC from 4.3.0 to this new
version.
The process was to install Samba 4.3.1 on new systems, joining these Samba
as DC, seizing FSMO roles, demote all 4.3.0.
The few I tested until now is working except for DNS entries:
samba_dnsupdate is not working as it tries to update

Sweave problem with greek text
Dear Sweave and R aficionados,
I am using R and Latex for many years, writing texts in greek. I tried
to combine them with Sweave, but without any success.
Could you provide me with any help?
Usually my LaTeX files are like this iso-8859-7 encoded .tex file:

which happily produces

Logging successful log-ins
ABvs> Yeah, it's a wiki. Go for your life!
I can do that - I just was not sure I was right and didn't want to put something in the wiki that wasn't factually accurate.
So, just to be extra explicit.
Samba can log both sucessful and failed authentications, but only successful authorizations, not unsuccessful authorizations.
Right?

rake spec controller test output hideus.
Is there any way to change the output of rake spec fails?
The errors are just totally over the top ugly and not helpful. First
of all the ruby -Ilib line always comes before each test and I find it
distracting. But if an error occurs on something that is not nil it
just gives me the entire contents of that object and that is no small
matter when the object is a HTTP request response.

Hello,
I am facing a problem during root.sh of 10g Release 2, on RH 4.0 update

During the root.sh it reports the following error:

Logging successful log-ins
There's a note at the top of that document:
"Samba only supports logging of succeeded authorization events."
Does that mean that it won't log authentication events at all? Because that's implied.
I think it would be better, assuming it will log auth events, to say;
"Samba only supports logging of *successful* authorization events, not unsuccessful. Samba also supports

DC replacement and DNS issue
Hey,
Thank you Louis for this script, I didn't yet took time to dig in but I'll
do.
I didn't took time neither to perform another test. That should be done
today.
Anyway I waited for DC synchronisation before posting. I joined my DC and
removed the old ones almost at same time then I gave more than 12 hours to
my DC to synchronize. Then I tried to understand what happened, I wrote

Hai,
If you just upgrade / changed the samba servers, then most probily replication is in progress..
Depanding on the numbers of objects this can take some time, so dont be to quick with checking.
So take some time and wait... get koffie (maybe beer) ;-)
Get this script , if needed change it and run it
https://secure.bazuin.nl/scripts/samba-check-db-repl.sh
it check up to 10 domain
