How to unstick ZFS resilver?
I have a large (88-drive) zpool in which a drive was recently
replaced. (The pool has a bunch of duff Toshiba MK2001TRKB drives --
never ever pay money for these! -- and I'm trying to replace them one
by one before they fail completely.) The resilver on the first drive
replacement has been taking much much too long, and currently it's
stuck in this state:
pool: export
state: DEGRADED

Newbie trying to Lag Variables in a regression
Perhaps I am making this too hard, but how does one regress y(t) on a
constant, x(t-1) and y(t-1)? I've tried the manuals and until I get
Dalgaard's book (just ordered on Amazon), I am stuck!
Thanks to all in advance for your patience and consideration.

Mysterious connection disappearances
...it. The two problems that occur are:
1. The "Microsoft mail postoffice" occasionally has files with deny_all
locks on them that prevent other users from sending email to the user.
My first impression was that this was an Outlook issue, but rebooting
the entire (client) computer does not unstick the problem. The only
thing to do seems to be to kill the connection from SWAT.
2. One particular program (called TimeKeeper from a company named
Kronos) is continually locking up. It appears that it's opening db
files, then somehow it loses track of this. On occasion we've even seen
the dr...

dumb developer explodes yum
...> 0.125-3.el5 conflicts with
elfutils-libelf-0.125-3.el5.i386
And when I check what elf libraries I currently have this is what I find;
[root at uszmpaplp005lc i386]# rpm -qa | grep elf
elfutils-libelf-0.137-3.el5
elfutils-0.137-3.el5
elfutils-libs-0.137-3.el5
Just wondering what I can do to unstick myself at this point.
Thanks

"Stuttering" display, NVA0 chipset.
...e display is not
refreshing, the mouse pointer continues to be responsive.
Basically, if I'm playing some video, the audio keeps going, the video stops
for 1-6 seconds, then continues running, synchronized with the audio. Or, if
I'm typing something on the terminal, after the display unsticks itself,
everything that was typed in the interim, is where it should be. That's the
best way I can describe it.
I see no complaints in /var/log/messages, nor in Xorg.0.log
I have the same kernel, nouveau, and Xorg version running on different
hardware with an NVC1 chipset, no issues th...

hang in select() on unix domain sockets, 60s timeout loop
...x 0xe68aa040 0t0 62052357 socket
$ grep 62052357 /proc/net/unix
e68aa040: 00000003 00000000 00000000 0001 03 62052357
So it's the same process. Is it hung on itself? Howcome it
doesn't respond to timeout and just goes over again? Is it
waiting for a signal? Can I send it one and unstick it?
There don't appear to be any other fds of interest in the
select loop so I'm not sure what other event it could be
waiting on besides a signal. It has been hung over 15
hours in same loop.
I did some searching and found some references to a Cygwin
issue, and also an old issue with no...

Hello Sam,
To be honest I've experienced something similar although my issue was
caused by the kernel swapping like crazy. There is a memory leak

No Instant Gratification ! Browser can''t access localhost:3000 (IR 1.4)
Hi! I''m learning Ruby on Rails with the Agile Web Development With Rails
book. I have installed InstantRails 1.4 (under windows xp 2) and after
doing all steps (gem updates, rails demo, ruby script/server which
launches WEBrick server), I can''t access the localhost:3000 with the
browser. I tried 127.0.0.1:3000 in apache config, then with my IP
address 192.168.1.100:3000

BT ISDN-30 Pri getting 'stuck' on outgoing calls.
I've having problems with a BT 2 span ISDN-30/Digium TE205P asterisk
setup with outgoing calls not completing and requiring an Asterisk reset
to 'unstick' span 1.
Sorry this is a bit long but I'm completely out of my depth :-(
This system has been in use for some while and I recently upgraded it to
asterisk 1.4.24, zaptel 1.4.11 and libpri 1.4.9. I didn't change
/etc/zaptel.conf or zapata.conf.
The upgrade fixed the problems with ca...

Is -R --link-dest really hard to use, or is it me?
I've got a problem for which the combination of -R and --link-dest
doesn't seem to be quite enough---and I may have discovered a few
small bugs as well; test cases are below.
[And if someone has a scheme for doing this that doesn't involve rsync
at all, but works okay, I'm all ears as well---I'm not the first with
this problem.]
Here's my problem: I unfortunately need to
