Wiki unscheduled outage yesterday
Hi,
Some of you probably noticed the fact that we had an issue with the
wiki. Nothing was updated on that node (from a pkg PoV) but we already
had strange issue when a page was edited with some content that would
lead to a traceback.
We so restored the last backup (from June 6th) and it was back to normal.
If you edited one or more pages on the wiki yesterday, you should have a
look and try to

ext3 usage guidance
Is there a document anywhere offering guidance on the optimum
use of ext3 filesystems? Googling shows nothing useful and the
Linux ext3 FAQ is not very forthcoming.
I'm particularly interested in:
1. The effect on performance of large numbers of (generally) small files
One of my ext3 filesystems has 750K files on a 36GB disk, and
backup with tar takes forever. Even 'find /fs -type

app_dial.c: Unable to create channel of type 'Zap' (cause 34 - Circuit/channel congestion)
Just to share some experience with everyone about what happened today to
our Asterisk 1.4 box with Digium TE412P card.
We had an unscheduled power outage which shut down the Asterisk box.
When the power went up, Asterisk came back up okay but the ports on the
card were all red. Zttool show red alarm and cat /proc/zaptel/1 show
red alarm today.
Both incoming and outgoing cannot be made.

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Andy,
I've described that issue (see below) when you were out of town... I think
I am getting more context on it. Please take a look...
So, in short, when the new MI scheduler performs move of an instruction, it
does something like this:
// Move the instruction to its new location in the instruction stream.
MachineInstr *MI = SU->getInstr();
if (IsTopNode) {

POD: soft lockups in dom0 kernel
Hi,
when creating a bigger (> 50 GB) HVM guest with maxmem > memory we get
softlockups from time to time.
kernel: [ 802.084335] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 22s! [xend:31351]
I tracked this down to the call of xc_domain_set_pod_target() and further
p2m_pod_set_mem_target().
Unfortunately I can this check only with xen-4.2.2 as I don''t have a machine
with enough memory for

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Andy, Lang,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I have spent more time with it today, and I do see some strange things in
liveness update. I am not at the actual cause yet, but here is what I got so
far:
I have the following live ranges when I start scheduling a region:
R2 = [0B,48r:0)[352r,416r:5)...
R3 = [0B,48r:0)[368r,416r:5)...
R4 = [0B,32r:0)[384r,416r:4)...
R5 = [0B,32r:0)[400r,416r:4)...

Upgrading 1.2 to 2.x
Hi
In an unscheduled maintenance window next week, I will have the
opportunity to upgrade to 2.x should I wish to do and provided I can
get it working on stage first.
My questions:
I've seen a lot on the list about the rock-solidness of 1.2 but also
some people saying that some versions of 2.x better than others. Is
there a recommended version - I don't need bleeding edge, I'd

Service wouldn't restart/refresh
I was trying to set up gitlab using this module

with RVM and RHEL 6. I got everything working except the gitlab service
wouldn''t start.
The service is defined as:

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Hi Sergei, Andy,
Sorry - I got distracted with some other work. I'm looking into this and
PR13719 now. I'll let you know what I find out.
Sergei - thanks very much for the investigation. That should help me pin
this down.
Cheers,
Lang.

[LLVMdev] Dependency graphs supported by the pass manager
Hi all:
I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I haven't found a direct statement of what kinds of requirements the Pass Manager imposes on pass dependency graphs. I found a number of bug reports related to unschedulable passes (e.g. "Unable to schedule pass" asserts from the pass manager), but it isn't always clear if these are true bugs in the scheduling algorithm or expected behavior.
Specifically, can anyone tell me what the intended behavior of the Pass Manager is in the following scenarios....

mischeduler
Hi,
Regarding the mischeduler, I wonder
// For loops that are acyclic path limited, aggressively schedule for
// latency. This can result in very long dependence chains scheduled in
// sequence, so once every cycle (when CurrMOps == 0), switch to normal
// heuristics.
if (Rem.IsAcyclicLatencyLimited && !Zone->getCurrMOps() &&
tryLatency(TryCand, Cand, *Zone))

Oops: zfs-auto-snapshot with at scheduling
Hi all,
I''ll attach a new version zfs-auto-snapshot including some more
improvements, and probably some new bugs. Seriously, I have
tested it, but certainly not all functionality, so please let me know
about any (new) problems you come across.
Except from the change log:
- Added support to schedule using at(1), see
README.zfs-auto-snapshot.txt
- take_snapshot will only run if

[LLVMdev] Assert in LiveInterval update
Hi Lang,
Just one more quick question. in LiveIntervalAnalysis.cpp In
SlotIndex findLastUseBefore(unsigned Reg, SlotIndex OldIdx)
Did you really mean to use
for (MachineRegisterInfo::use_nodbg_iterator
UI = MRI.use_nodbg_begin(Reg),
UE = MRI.use_nodbg_end();
UI != UE; UI.skipInstruction()) {}
Aren't we currently dealing with units,
