Decoding with 8 bit-samples
...et = 0 Then begin fileOut := TFileStream.Create(savedlg.FileName,fmCreate); repeat ret := ov_read(VF, pcmout, BufferSize, 0, 1, 1, nil); //'cause of the 8-bit fileOut.Write(pcmout, ret); until ret = 0; end; The result will be cracking.... etc (will be unrecognizable). Why? If I decode into 16-bit samples, everything is ok! Thank you for your reply, crc <p>--------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on the iPhone platform?
...d recording the same mic sounds fine, so I can only assume there is an issue with the clients themselves. Both clients allow you to register and make calls via SIP with any abitrary provider and credentials, so they'll work with Asterisk. I've tried them with two good providers and one has unrecognizable audio and the other has noises as if the cable was badly soldered. I've never experienced such troubles with "regular" SIP clients. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks /r

Sweave and accents
Hello. I want to write my notes in Sweave in my own language (spanish). But my language has accents and when I run Sweave in R to translate my Snw file into the tex file the accents are translated into unrecognizable characters. For example, the word "cami?n" (truck) is translated into "cami??n" Somebody knows how can I do it? One solution I don't like is using a perl program to substitute my accented letters into "normal" accents in LaTeX in my Snw file before running...

[patch] PXE-On-A-Disk: etherboot2ethersel.pl patched for etherboot-5.4.3+dfgs
...I patched etherboot2ethersel.pl to fix it: $ ./etherboot2ethersel.pl.patched etherboot-5.4.3+dfsg/src/bin/ TEMPDIR/ Now reading from NIC file and generating SYSLINUX.CFG file Done! Supported 32 drivers and 273 cards (Skipped 8 bad drivers and 13 bad cards) (Skipped 52 unrecognizable lines in file) The patch also adds a -d command line switch. This switch replaces the need to edit the script in order to produce debugging information by a command line switch. --- etherboot2ethersel.pl.orig 2009-10-06 07:46:08.000000000 +0100 +++ etherboot2ethersel.pl.patched 2009-10-...

terrible MeetMe sound with 1.6.2.9
Hi, Using MeetMee(1234,M) on asterisk 1.6.2.9 (debian/testing) we have terrible sound: the MOH is unrecognizable and speakers can't be understood; it sounds "ghostly". However the prompts ("your are the only one in this conference, etc.") sound fine. Our server has a Digium T410P card with two E1 lines going in and the wct4xxp dahdi module. Any idea?

[PATCH] oggmerge, various
...gzip-type compression, maybe application/x-kate may indeed be > appropriate. This would however mean that some specialised application > is required to decode the data. In a nutshell, all data is stuffed into an oggpack_buffer. Text data often ends up non byte aligned. A packet's data is unrecognizable as text (and contains a fair amount of non-text data anyway). A specialized program is indeed required (something linking against the libkate API, which does the oggpack stuff). Interesting point about gzip however, I'd have thought gzipped text would use something like application/gzip rather...

drm-nouveau-next - write trapped by fbcon
Hi, With drm-nouveau-next branch on top of 3.13-rc2 and a few sound commits I get following errors in kernel log (repeating much more often). (once there was a corrupted fbcon with matrix-like strings of unrecognizable glyph-strings hanging down from screen top border) These errors do stop once I switch to Xorg. You'd still have to pay the royalties. It DOES matter if it's mp3. You have to pay the publisher royalties regardless, but in addition, there's a 2% royalty for webcasting in the mp3 format, with a $2000 annual minnumum. See http://mp3licensing.com/royalty/emd.html for the officia...

Asterisk 1.4 and g723
...ted except for Echo. The critical application for us is Voicemail. When a call to voicemail extension is initiated the Asterisk console does not indicate any error. Packet captures indicate the call is active and streaming g723 data. Everything seems well but is not. The audio at the client is unrecognizable. One thing that I have noticed is that the bitrates in the upstream and downstream direction differ. From Asterisk to ATA the g723 bitrate switches between 5.3 kb/s and 6.3 kb/s. From ATA to Asterisk the bitrate is a constant 6.3 kb/s. I don't think this is a problem but seems odd. As a co...

ANALOG FXO ZAPTEL & WCFXO & WCTDM module issues seen with intermittent analog lines
...the cable from one side of the desk to another, and I simply disconnected the RJ-45 connector and plugged it back in. THIS PROMPTLY RESULTED IN VERY VERY SCRATCHY AUDIO CONNECTIONS WHEN USING THE FXO PORT. Incoming calls were erratic, outbound calls were almost unuseable, dialled digits were almost unrecognizable. Basically after some difficult troubleshooting the fix was: before disconnecting cable kill asterisk process remove WCTDM module remove WCFXO module remove ZAPTEL module and then, reconnect cable, and then, install ZAPTEL, WCTDM, WCFXO, start asterisk once again. Apparently during operation of...

[LLVMdev] Two suggestions for improving LLVM error reporting
...for dump(). The version of dump() in llvm::Type takes a module parameter, which allows the type to be printed out using the type names registered in that module. However, the various asserts which call dump() or str() don't have a module pointer handy, which causes the type to be printed out as unrecognizable gobbledygook. If there was some way that we could associate either a default module with the LLVMContext - or perhaps register type names with the LLVMContext directly - and have dump() with no arguments use these name mappings - it would make the output more readable. (I kind of like the idea of h...
