Seagate - experience/opinion on vendor?
...e set of Seagate's SAS ST32000444SS, over a hundred - experience I'm having from those in conjunction with their tech support is abysmal. I'm trying to update firmware of these drives and nothing works, including tech support. ... and I cannot help but wonder - is just me who is so unlucky and getting very, very poor support(taking naturally only of Linux) or in fact Seagate are rubbish! Care to share your say? thanks, L.

Installation on OSX...
...ion of mysql supported by DarwinPorts appears to be 4.1.18. But all the sites appear to only have 4.1.19 or 4.1.20. So it looks like DarwinPorts is over a month out of date. I went to look at Fink to see if it had mysql, and it does, but it would appear to be the same problem. Is my timing just unlucky? Or are there newer instruction updates that haven''t been put into the wiki? Thanks, Brad -- Bradley Mazurek

unexpected R crash - again
...ory (2) On my Linux box I can only go to about --vsize=120M --nsize=1000k. This is a Pentium MMX 266Mhz with 64Mb of memory. The machine crashes after "thinking" for about 3 seconds. It produces segmentation violation error and dumps core. It seems to me that, unless I have some unlucky machines, the problem is not just handling too small memory allocation ungracefully. Corrupted SSL parameters file in state_dir: ssl-parameters.dat
...: ssl-params: Generating SSL parameters > Aug 4 17:06:58 bbb dovecot: ssl-params: SSL parameters regeneration completed Your timestamps suggest you did this the other way around. Aki mentioned that issue is/will be fixed, but DH parameters can take a *very* long time to generate if you're unlucky, so maybe it's a timing issue (using the service before the DH parameters was ready.) Queues strategy
...nt, even if that agent is busy, and will not move to the next agent) I thought I'd try the roundrobin strategy. This seemed to work - however, I had my supervisor telling me today that a certain agent seemed to be getting most of the calls - and when I checked, out of 50 inbound calls, that unlucky person had over 60% of them (we had 4 agents logged in). Is this a "designed behaviour" ? What I expected roundrobin to do was to call Agent1 Agent2 Agent3 Agent4 in that order, moving to the next agent on the next call. If Agent2 is busy (but was next on the list), I would expect t...

samba - xp -ad issue
I was hoping that someone has seen a similar problem to the one I am facing. I have a samba 3 server connected to an windows domain. All connections appear correct most of the users can connect via windows xp with no issue. However there are a unlucky few whose work stations cannot connect. All xp work stations are the same (at least as well as a large company can get). The user in question have ad accounts on the Linux server. We use ad as the userid source and Kerberos authentication on the *nix machines. So user I'd and passwords are n...

NV50 compute support questions
...gnome-shell) the machine freezes. This is with mesa-master with the above changes on top. X / gnome-shell will happily work of I do not call nve4_screen_compute_setup() but then test/trivial/compute fails with a null-ptr exception. Do you perhaps have some extra patches in your tree, or am I just unlucky ? I've tested this on both a 4.2 and a 4.4-rc3 kernel. Regards, Hans

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau: Unmap pushbuf BOs when we're done with them.
If you're especially unlucky BOs would move around and their kmaps would end up pointing to something else in GART, then ioctl_pushbuf() would use the kmaps again corrupting textures or other pushbufs (the most noticeable symptom was a PFIFO_DMA_PUSHER from time to time). need help with unlist(), losing NULL values

It gets worse if some of the B's are not null, and if I were really unlucky then matrix() would not fail but data will be messed up. My question is - is there a different way of using unlist() that I am missing? Is there a better way of getting this data in a rectangular format? -- Thanks and regards, Dinesh
