unlink_directory failed with 'Device or resource busy' on NFS
...g some errors while I'm trying to move mailboxes from IMAP server to Outlook client. The error message is "IMAP command is failed" and I think it is useless.
Here are the error messages written to server's syslog.

Error: unlink_directory(.../lucene-indexes) with doveadm index
...am updating search indexes on all my mailboxes via a nightly cronjob that
runs: doveadm index -A '*'
The problem we're running into is that random mailboxes will throw the
following error during the update (sanitized to conceal actual domain name):
doveadm(user at domain.com): Error:
unlink_directory(/var/spool/mail/domain.com/user/sdbox/lucene-indexes)
failed: Permission denied
We have around 250 domains on the server, with a handful of mailboxes on
average in each domain. We get this for a varying number of total mailboxes
(1 to 6 every night). It is common for the same mailbox to show up...

Dovecot cannot unlink non-empty directory
Hi,
Currently I use dovecot 1.1.3 on Debian Testing. CPU arch is x86. Mail
is stored on ext3 fs.
I'm having a following problem with deleting folders (there is no
problem with creation of folders):
Error: IMAP(test at laptop.aonet.pl):
unlink_directory(/home/vpopmail/domains/laptop.aonet.pl/test/.//Maildir/..DOVECOT-TRASHED)
failed: Permission denied
HOW TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a fresh new account
2. Login to a new account and create folder say 'TestFolder'
3. When I try to delete TestFolder - it is deleted and ..DOVECOT-TRASHED

Problem Deleting IMAP Folders
Hello,
In my configuration I have
mail_location = maildir:/Mail/frank.gr/%n:INDEX=/Mail/frank.gr/
__Indexes/%u
I can create new folders in an IMAP session, but when I try to delete
I get permission denied.
From the LOG

Maildir delete folder error
I'm getting errors when I try to delete a maildir folder.
Dovecot versions 1.0.10, 1.0.13, 1.1.rc1, 1.1,rc3
Error received:

Cannot remove Maildir folder
.../Maildir/.Trash.test/dovecot.index.cache
(filer:/vol/vol0/home/marcin)

There are more files in use but in this case I'm interested with PID
21360 which has opened Trash/test (the one which I'm going to remove)
* Just after removal I see error message in Syslog:

Running lsof again gives the following:

windows live mail + dovecot and nfs

There is no errors deleting first folder (new dir
/storage/vol1/mail/domain/user/Maildir/..DOVECOT-TRASHED appeared and
wasn't deleted). If I try to delete second one, error occurs (user,
domain, IP address changed):

I'm using dovecot 1.2.10 @FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE-p1 amd64 and NFS storage

The director bugfix is pretty important at least when running in two
director setups, since it can break the directors until both of them are
manually shut down. I'm not entirely sure if the same happens in >2
director setups, but I'd think so (although I do wonder why I
