IPSec tunnel and routing
Hello.
I wonder how just correct couple of spdadd commands like
spdadd 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/10.1.0.1-10.2.0.1/require;
spdadd 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 any -P in ipsec esp/tunnel/10.2.0.1-10.1.0.1/require;
makes _routing_ of packets from 192.168.1/24 into 192.168.2/24.
If I understand correctly how it works on *BSD, these commands with

services do not get restarted
Hello List,
We are using puppet to manage a growing number of Debian Etch based
servers (currently 70). Since upgrading to 0.22.4 we encountered
a problem when services do not restarted on puppets request.
For example the Nagios remote plugin executor daemon (nrpe). It''s running
daemonized and its confiugration is located in /etc/nagios/nrpe.cfg. This
file is managed through puppet

Bandwidth monitoring tool
Hi.
I am trying to shape my upstream bandwidth, mostly per port. and I am
having some problems getting things to work the way I want them to.
before I throw my configuration at you guys ;), I`d like to debug it by
myself - but I was not able to find a tool that allow me to
monitor current bandwidth usage per port (and preferably even per port+ip).
I want to know what is the current bandwidth

Iptables matching on IFB
Hey folks,
I stumbled across the Mastershaper project
( http://www.mastershaper.org/ ) but I have a little problem:
I wanted to shape the traffic coming from the router itself aswell as
coming from the LAN behind the router, for that task I need IMQ, but
with IMQ iptables-(layer7)-matching is not possible. Now I''ve talked
with the programmer and he said the following:

iptables CLASSIFY and MARK not working?
I have to match my packets based on MAC address, which I cannot do in
the POSTROUTING chain, so I do it in PREROUTING using MARK. Then, I
match on the MARK in the POSTROUTING chain to do a CLASSIFY. But this
does not seem to work:
wireless-r1 bwlimit # iptables -L -v -n -t mangle
Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT 3353K packets, 941M bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source

Bug#519064: xen-utils-common: hvm migration fails because of missing /var/lib/xen/save
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 3.2.0-2
Severity: normal
When I was trying to migrate (xm migrate) a guest from one host to another,
it simply fails. On the source host the virtual machine gets destroyed
without any warning message - on the destination host I see the following
error message in /var/log/xen/xend.log

Bug#520629: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64: Intel e1000 network card emulation
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-amd64
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: normal
Hi,
Is the e1000 network card within domU no longer available?
With model=e1000 a Xen domain refuses to start while with
etch this was possible.
There are some Windows guests on which I can not install
gplpv, so with lenny they will just get 100mbit ethernet
emulated.
Cheers,
Andreas

MasterShaper
Hello
After some weeks of development, this is my first public announcement of
a web-based traffic shaping
solution with the melodious name MasterShaper. The project is licensed
under GPL 2.
It''s goal is to make traffic shaping possible for users who know about
networking and the traffic
shaping capabilities, but have not much experience with Linux and and
the difficult tc syntax.

Samba Active Directory NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED - expired?
Hello list,
I'm using several samba server (mix between v2.2 and v3.0 versions)
within an Active Directory domain. These servers are normal domain
members and winbind is used to lookup the domain users on the linux
machines.
Sometimes it looks like that some of the servers get kicked out of the
domain. In the samba logs suddenly NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED messages
appear and samba stopps

Screening packets within tc-classes
Hello list,
I''m currently a bit planless so perhaps someone here could give me a point in
the right direction.
History: I wrote a shaper web tool (http://shaper.netshadow.at) and now got
several feature requests if it would be possible to graph "what''s going on"
(this mean per IP address, tcp/udp ports or protocols) in a specific chain. A
chain represents a specific

Ticket 616, service resource takes over puppetd port
Hello Luke,
After our services do now successfully restart, we hit now the already
opened bug where the restarted service takes over puppetd port if it''s
configured to listen.
One solution is to remove the listen option but it''s very nice to invoke a
puppetrun on the clients from the central server without waiting for its
next run.
Where you already able to take a look? It
