Cisco 7905
Can anyone tell me the features of the Cisco 7905 with SIP? I mean things
like number of lines, speakerphone, transfer buttons, etc. I've seen the
Cisco material, but all it told me was how nifty it is and how wonderful
the XML interface will be ;)
Thanks,

Cisco AS5300
Hi all,
I realize this is OT.
I just got a Cisco AS5300, and I need to configure it like such:
Asterisk -----(H323/SIP)------> Cisco ----- (E1/PRI)------->Telco
So calls originate from the Asterisk side (registered users on SIP or just ZAP phones), and they go
out H323 or SIP to Cisco, where they go out PRI.
I have the Asterisk side sorted :) (either H323 or SIP), I need help in the

Intercom/autoanswer, SIP, Cisco
A friend pointed out this url
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/pcat/clmn32.htm where it lists
intercom/auto-answer as being a feature in Cisco Call Manager (which as I
understand it, uses SIP predominately for handsets). I've come
across comment somewhere that intercom isn't supported in the SIP spec.
Does anyone know if the apparent capabil...

Sip & Intercom
Hello all,
I noticed that Cisco claims that you can do station to station
intercom with the 7940/7960 phones, and the Cisco Call Manager. Does
anyone have an example SIP header that shows this in action? Or is it
something else that triggers the intercom? I would like to add this in
to *.
Thanks,
Mike

How to unlock old SCCP Cisco 7960 ?
Hi,
An Cisco 7960 ipphone has been set to SCCP firmware by one of our students.
I want to set it to 7.5 SIP firmware and I've been unsuccessful yet.
Firmware versions are SCCP 3.0 (Source: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_ipphon/english/ipp7960/addprot/mgcp/frmwrup.htm#wp1045789) ie:
Application Load P003F300

NAT working outbound with Asterisk and ATA-186 phones
...xy: [ip address of your Asterisk server]
Gateway: [ip address of your Asterisk server]
ConnectMode: 0x00460400
OutBoundProxy: [ip address of your Asterisk server]
The ConnectMode flags are used in v2.14 and v2.15 to "re-register"
phones with the correct data. See
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/ata/atarn/186rn214.htm#xtocid17
for details.
That should be all you need to get outbound calls working in their
most basic sense.

SIP Firmware for Cisco Phones
Just a quick note to people looking for SIP firmware images for Cisco
phones:
To access these files from Cisco's website, you need to have a Service
Contract (SmartNet) on at least on of your phones. I though a contract
was several hundred dollars, but it is way cheaper! Their lowest level,
1 year Next Business Day 8x5 SmartNet program, costs around $70.00, and
gives you unlimited access to

SIP with CIC
Hi,
Is there any (easy) way to get Asterisk to include CIC-information in
the SIP INVITE?
CIC:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123cgcr/vvfax_c/callc_c/sip_c/sipc1_c/chapter3.htm#1314580
I need my SIP INVITE to look something like:
INVITE sip:5550001;cic=+16789@172.18.202.60:5060 SIP/2.0
I'v tried a couple of different things but can't find anything that
works. I sure hope that...

upgrade goof up
Here's the problem, I upgraded all of my 7960 phones to SIP. Now my boss
wants to carry his phone with him between offices. The other office has CCM
which is set up for Skinny. Now I have to put SCCP back on a 7960 phone and
it won't take it. Does anyone have an example of config files for sccp.
Are they the same as config files for SIP? I've never had to go back to
Skinny once I

Status of Q.SIG on Asterisk?
The last post I saw regarding this was June 2003 (before my time with *, I
started in September):
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-June/013324.html
Is there any support for Q.SIG in * at all? The Norstar MICS uses a MCDN
(Meridian Customer Defined Network) key to enable the "SL1" protocol which
from everything I've been reading is just Q.SIG. This protocol

(OT) Dialplan Standards for Business/Offices
Are there any standards for setting up pbx dialplans for businesses/offices?
What I mean is that, which numbers are reserved for a specific use ex. 0
for operator ? Putting Zero for operator in the dialplan seems to be the
common practice of businesses.
If there is such a standard, * and # are used for what ?

> having two NICs on the same subnet
I'm trying to wrap my brain around that in the larger network picture. Two
NICs in the same subnet (presumably on the same computer) would have access
to the same other devices. This could potentially increase bandwidth
(maybe?) and offer redundancy (if NICS, wiring or switches were the biggest
source of failure). I'm not sure how the OS would
