Trouble with R CMD check
Friends, I changed one line of a package at the source level and then rebuilt it. When I run R CMD check, I get an error: installing R.css in C:/polsplineRS.Rcheck ---------- Making package polsplineRS ------------ adding build stamp to DESCRIPTION making DLL ... making hareall.d from hareall.c making heftall.d from heftall.c making lsdall.d from lsdall.c making lspecall.d from lspecall.c

Help with installing add-on packages
Dear R users. Recently I wanted to update my R distribution to the current one (R-2.7.1). I am running a Fedora core 8 distirbution. The installation went fine, but when I tried to add some additional packages the majority made an exit with an error. Only a few least demanding (e.g. RColorBrewer) managed to get through the installation process. What happened between the versions 2.6.x and 2.7.x

Problem installing packages in newer versions of R
Dear all, I was wandering what could be wrong with my system (regularly updated Fedora core 8) so that installing packages does not succeed with almost every package. I follow the procedure specified in the help file R-admin section 6.3. This is not a feature new to the current version but happened (to me) in the previous version as well. Additionally R-help html pages try to follow wrong links

gem fetching error
I am trying to install some application using gem, but I keep on getting the error. I tried with ''gem clean'' and ''gem update''. The latter gives the following error (the same error is replicable when I try any ruby applications): # gem update --debug Exception `Errno::ENOENT'' at /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems/config_file.rb:51 - No such file or

can't build from source: error: template with C linkage
Hi All, Users have contacted me because they can not build MCMCglmm from source. All are using R 3.3.0 on various machines with different compilers gcc (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.2) 5.4.0 g++ (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04.3) 4.8.4 Mac OS X El Capitan (version/compiler unspecified) The issue seems to be with mixing C/C++ with the repeated error: /usr/include/c++/5/bits/cpp_type_traits.h:118:3:

can't build from source: error: template with C linkage
This looks like the result of including a C++ system header inside an extern "C" block. There is no evidence of this happening in the current version 2.22.1. However, it did happen in the previous version 2.22 via the chain of inclusions: MCMCglmmcc.h -> cs.h -> R.h -> various C++ system headers See Writing R Extensions P 108. I would check that the people reporting this bug

Upgrading LDAP entries from 2.2.7 for Samba 3 not happening
We have been using samba 2.2.7 for awhile now with ldap no problem. We are ready to move to Samba 3 though, and this is where the trouble begins. We do not have a domain set up. We have a few samba boxes and they just use the ldap servers to get their passwords from. (no roaming desktops or anything like that.) I did a bit of reading up and see that I need to run the convertSambaAccount script
