.... All clients are in the same Workgroup (no cross Subnets) Samba is configured as local master browser and a guest user is set up. I read the BROWSING.txt and all I think I should have done I've done ;-). The Workgroup name is SYSTEM the samba server is daemon with IP 192.168.1.1 Where does the UNICAST_SUBNET come from? Why is a _SAMBA_ netbios name added where I've never configuered this? Hi all. I have a problem. I'm trying to let samba run as WINS server and as domain master. But if I run nmbd in debug mode it says: dump workgroup on subnet UNICAST_SUBNET: netmask= 10.8.0.1: FREAKYYDE(1) current master browser = UNKNOWN MASTER 40899a03 (master server) the servers hostname is master. i've tried to explicitly set it in the config but it doesnt help.
